Well, there is certainly some measure to what u say, but I think I have been fair.. I stated what I thought, ammended it to say that thinking it was intentionally done was too strong, and apologized, and done nothing sense but raise pertinent questions about the shot clock, and this site.. I asked the referee what matches he used the clock on, and instead of answering, he deflects by saying I'm yelling at him (which is utterly ridiculous, and childish), and now he refers me to the stream (which I watched, BTW... ALL 3 DAYS.. Sorry for yelling), but I never saw any match go on the clock..
I said I'll admit it if I'm wrong, but so far, nobody has shown me that I am..
actually Teddy-boy ... you are...I was not going to jump in since Kennan has been doing such a great job of answering the questions for everyone... however... I was the ref on the JJ/Klatt match that took over 3 hours... and several times I consulted the TD about putting the match on the clock AND Ken Shuman came out and specifically addressed BOTH players to step up their game play. It was the intention of the TD's to allow the players to play their games as they were coming down to the final matches.... however, and do know I have the utmost respect for all the players that were at this tournament. Having over 11... yes... 11 years refereeing experience... when a player exhibits slow play over the course of several of their matches... Deschaine/Klatt/Jones... to name a few, they leave the TD/Ref no other alternative than to enforce the shot clock rule. is it "fair"? by all means, one rule is truly no stronger than any other rule..... unless you want to discuss unsportsmanlike conduct. I am sorry that our performance as the officials for this were disappointing to you. and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Personally, I think everyone did a fabulous job, and am very proud to have been a part of the event.
