World 10-ball in manila - may 10 to 15

It looks like a tough field out there

Here are the big guns(in my opinion) who are out of the last 64.

Ralf Souquet
Thorsten Hohmann
Antonio Lining
Chang Jun-Lin
Yang Ching Shun
Niels Feijen

I am flying into Manila tomorrow to watch the games live tomorrow and 2 of my favorite players are already out. :(

Many good matches to choose from. In the 4pm session with Wu Jia Qing/Wang Ming match should be good.

Most people outside China do not know Wang Ming. He is from Shanghai and is an unusual character, but a very strong player who does not get out of China often to play. I am sure he and Wu have played before in Shanghai.

Before the day is over, we will be down to the FINAL 4 in this 2nd to the last day of the WTB tournament in the Philippines.

Live streaming with English commentary will start at 12 midnight US EST or 9 pm US Pacific tonight

Wow, I just noticed that the players left in the lower bracket are much stronger compared to the upper bracket. Take a look at these players. They will be knocking each other out to get to the final 2. In fact, any one of these players can win the tournament.

SE41 DENNIS ORCULLO, PHILIPPINES VS KARL BOYES, GREAT BRITAIN
SE42 WU CHIA CHING, CHINA VS LO LIWEN, JAPAN
SE43 CARLO BIADO, PHILIPPINES VS RONNIE ALCANO, PHILIPPINES
SE44 SHANE VAN BOENING, USA VS DARYL PEACH, GREAT BRITAIN
SE45 HAN HAO XIANG, CHINA VS LEE VAN CORTEZA, PHILIPPINES

SE47 FU JIANBO, CHINA VS CHIEN CHIEH LIU, CHINESE TAIPEI
SE48 JUNDEL MAZON, PHILIPPINES VS PARK SHIN YOUNG, KOREA

If Dennis Orcullo and Wu Chia Ching win their respective matches, that is the match I will want to see in the 4 am (US est) tv live streaming match. Winner will make it to the final 8.

Matches

I tried to watch the Corteza match, but the picture kept freezing up too much, so I had to quit halfway through the match.

Round of 32 matches started already.

Now live streaming DRAGO vs ORTMANN match.

Interesting match going on in the stream: Wu Chia-Ching (or however his name should be spelled nowadays) versus Lo Li-Wen.

Match started with Wu winning the lag, but jumping the cue ball off the table on the break and Lo running out two racks. Wu won the next game and it's now 2-1 to Lo.

Did Wu came from 8-0 or 7-0 down to lose 9-8?

Yes, Dennis Orcullo was ahead 7 to 0 and then Wu made a great comeback and was able to tie the score hill-hill. Dennis won though and advanced to the final 8.

Orcullo then faced a red-hot Carlo Biado and lost 4 to 9.

This Carlo Biado must be really good. First of all he demolished Ronnie Alcano 9 to 1 to advance to the final 16. Then he got rid of Daryl Peach 9 to 4 to slip into the final 8. Last but not the least, he defeated Dennis Orcullo 9 to 4 to be in the final 4. Never seen Biado play but I am sure going to watch the semifinals via live streaming tonight when he faces Lee Van Corteza or Fu Jianbo of China (match still on-going).

BTW, they announced that the first semifinal match will start at 9 pm US EST tonight.
