2nd shaft for helmsetter

I'm buying a second shaft for my wife's helmstetter cue and thought the OB1 would be a good choice. I think she would prefer a white tip as opposed the the stacked tip. Are the stacked tips superior to the plastic type in solid feel? Does the silver ring add more strenght to the joint as well? If anyone can offer insight to this choice it would be appreciated.

I think you mean the ferrule, that is the white part. The ob1's have a stacked wood ferrule the newer ob1 classic and pro classic (smaller tip) has a little white ferrule. This will hit differently, I would recommend trying them out and see which she will like since they are close to 200 bucks.

The ring does nothing but is for looks only.

I test drove an ob1 recently. I thought the hit was pretty terrible, very hollow and very unforgiving. Not cheap either.
