[Breakin8] Showing off my new break cues with the new tip design. What do you think?

The post was more to be about the cue then the tip.

Your title was
"Showing off my new break cues with the new tip design. What do you think?"

Your first response to Randy G about is it legal was to say it has a leather tip. That sent the thread in the direction it went and you were naturally challenged to explain your claim about the leather tip. That's all it was about, I think it has been answered the rules are pretty clear. I didn't realize that you made the cue, you did right? I thought you had it made.

No I made the cue. The tip in many tours and leagues is legal. The madman break jump tip is great that is all leather. This is the best I have found for power and control. It may not be for every league player. Or some tourneys. Glad to here the feed back.

Every billiard supply sell all kinds of phenolic tips and who really cares what the BCA thinks. What is the last thing they even did for pool. I have used a phenolic tip for years and nerve been challenged on it. I believe the BCA also left it up to the league operators whether they would ban them anyway and most could care less. The whole thing after a big hoop-la a few years back was all about nothing. You made a nice cue by the way, a little too nice to just be a break cue. Simple clean designed cues like that are the bread and butter for most cue makers. There is always a market for cues like that priced right.

Thanks very much! The customer said make him a nice cue. That all he said so that's what I came up with.

Most of the guys that use my cues are local money players but in Tri state tour and the Blaze tour. My tip is a legal break tip. The leather is for the control of the cue ball. But the phenolic gives you that crushing break. This tip will never need replacing but if it dose. A good repair can replace it. Good repair guy !!!!!

Is it any different than cutting the phenolic ferrule flat and adding a high quality leather break tip (like a samsara J/B)?

I have a custom Gulyassy with 2 shafts a solid one piece phenolic and anotherr with the phenolic cut flat and the samsara attached. The both hit great, a little more Cb control with the Samsara. Sometimes I prefer it on a barbox to park the rock in the center better.

It's cool the your's has the leather in the center and the OP has it at the sides. BTW the cue looks great, I think everyone should have a nice looking breaker.

It is a little different. The tip is held from expanding. This gives you a much harder hit. That is what I feel.
