ok ive cover and replaced many rails for pool tables but not sure about snooker, how do you get the curve when you replace the rubber is there a pattern you cut to or is it a added on. thanks gary

It depends. If you are dealing with k profile cushion you can purchase snooker bends to finish the pocket. For a true snooker table with step
rubber, then we use a template to contour correct bend.

I am thinking of buying an old 5x10 snooker table here in the SE USA. I am in Nashville. I see quite a few available for $700 to $1200 within a few hundred miles drive. I am assuming that I would need new cloth and maybe a lot more. I see a really big difference in width of corner pockets, anywhere between 2.75” to 3.3" for the corners. These tables probably all have the us style cushions with the sharp edge kinda similar to a pool table.
I am a diy kinda guy. I have moved tables before. I am a classical guitar builder and and would find any woodwork necessary to be routine.
I am wondering about making the pockets wider in case they are the ridiculously small 2.75” corners. I read the the uk champions are firing those blacks into 3.5” corner pockets but I do not know how good that info is.
I see supply houses that list the rubber for only about $100 give or take.
I am only interested in snooker, not golf etc.
Should I consider converting to the UK style step shape instead of the typical US tringle profile ones. If this requires modifying the wood the rubber glues to, that is within my woodworking skills. I am open to getting a set of 2 1/16” balls as well as the US size 2 1/8 balls.
I notice that for the US profile cushions, end pieces with a curve are available but not for the uk style. How does that work? I do not want a table with the toughest pockets. I am 63 and I would like to learn to run 20 balls instead of just 7 or 8. What pocket width should I go for.
Most of the tables I see offered are already disassembled so it would be hard for me to measure the pocket width. So maybe I should assume the pockets would be too small and budget some $$$ for that in the deal.

I see 1920s 1930s 6-leg leather pocket brunswicks as well as 6- leg sportsman with plastic pockets,

Even a 2 pedestal Anniv with plastic pockets.

Some nice old tables for not much cash.

I have ruled out a 6x12 even though there are a few around, just too big for my space. I have seen a few Brunswick 9’ snookers over the years too, any comments there?

I guess I am atttracted to the 1920s & 1930s 6-leg leather pocket brunswicks, followed by anniversary. Does anyone know pros and cons of these 2 ways to go. Resale is a factor too. I really appreciate comments from those of you who have a lot of experience here.
Thanks,
Jerry
