Cameron, MO pool tournament??

Does anyone here have knowledge of the tourney that is to take place in Cameron, Mo this weekend? I've only heard rumors but it sounds like it might be worthwhile.

Please share your knowledge if you do.
 
Hi Rich,

They are having an 8-ball tournament on Sunday August 21st on valley bar tables. It starts at 11am with a $20 entry and $10 green fee. It's a nice 1 day tournament. They had around 20 players last month for the 9 ball. It's a nice place and the tournament is very competitive. Pretty solid field with several players coming over from St. Jo. He adds some money but not sure how much. They also do a Calcutta. Race to 5.

Thanks Darryl. That sounds decent enough but is a far cry from the rumors I was hearing. Is it possible there is another tourney at Chaulk and Cue Billiards there in Cameron (or is that now Kamlers)?

That's a pretty long haul for a $20 tourney Rich...I guess you'll just have to snap off the whole damned thing and bring back the dough yo! Get 'em brotha! :thumbup:
 
Chalk and cue billiards is no longer in business. Kamlers is the only pool hall/bar in town. The tournament is a very decent tournament for a town the size of cameron (it is exactly how darryl described) however if your traveling very far you should know that the top payday you could expect to have would be around $500, including calcutta.

Well, it sounds like a great little tourney for the locals but too far to travel for it to be worthwhile for us southern boys. Thanks for all the info.
 
It would be a bit of a drive for the money. Chalk and Cue is in St. Joseph and they used to have Sunday Calcutta tournaments but they were about the same size as the Cameron tournament. From what David said, they might be out of business but not for sure.
 
Chalk and cue in St Joe is still open. There used to be a Chalk and Cue in Cameron in the same building that Kamlers is in now but it has closed.
 
It depends. The boys from St. Joseph like to get in the mud every now and then. They have nice Friday night 8-ball tournament and usually there is someone there that will match up but nothing huge. When they don't have tournaments, I don't think there is much action.

Hey thanks for the info.I was at Shooters Olathe about a year ago.I met this guy down there and i think he told me he was
from st joe.Cant remember the name though.He played well.

Its about a hour and a half from here,me and a buddy might make it up there.
