McDaniel Question

For the most part yes he did, but he did make some with a non-capped non-threaded ferrule.

No it was more dependent on the ferrule material he used at the time. I have an early eighties true sneaky with an ivory colored plastic ferrule which is not capped or threaded and I have seen non-capped used in his shop on different levels of cues. If it was a capped ferrule it is threaded, if not it likely is not threaded. The difference is the structural integrity of the ferrule material. I've never seen an ivory ferrule which was not capped for this reason.

Its definitely not capped. Can I safely conclude that its not threaded?

yes, it would be surprising to find it threaded. Why are you asking are you planning on working on it or something? If so, wait a couple of days and I'll ask Bill about it to be more positive at lunch tomorrow. What model of cue is it?

I want to take my first shot at doing a real ferrule and my cue is the best choice. I'm pretty sure I'm ready for non threaded ferrules but not so much the threaded ones. Its a MacAttck sneaky by the way. Not sure when it was made.

Like I said I'll talk to Bill about it tomorrow and I'll post to you either tomorrow night when I get home or on Monday morning.

Bill said the Mac Attack with a non-capped ferrule is threaded and will have a 3/8-20 tenon with a 10 thousandths shoulder at the bottom.
