Mark Allen Calls For Hearn To Quit !

I wish I could remember where I saw an article/blog/? that called him Barry Hernia ... I would have posted the link here .... errrr. I Googled it and found this but that's not the one .. I'll keep looking.

I looked but no luck. I'm thinking that I must have read it in "paper form" -- they still have those nowadays, albeit not as many as in the "old days".

Reply to Pt109 !

I listen to Talksports Radio over here and Barry Hearn is coming to America

He said early next Spring 2012.

I thought great he must be investing in U.S Pool

But alas no , said he was looking into promoting Table Tennis

He was looking at New York scene first.

I thought this must be a bluff but who knows

It could be true.

Table Tennis stars walking on to the stage with their favourite music

blaring , model escorts .

Or

U.S. Pool players walking on to the stage with their favourite music

blaring , model escorts .

Makes me wonder what's up with the U.S Pool scene that so bad

He doesn't get involved ? It needs a guy like him to revitalise it .

P.S.

I haven't figured out how to edit posts yet !

I don't know, but I think it probably has something to do with the absolute lack of organisation. There really is nothing to invest in, just a few small tours. If he was going to invest in Pool, he would have to start completely from scratch. At least with snooker there was a template to build on.

As for Mark, he's crazy things have never looked better. I understand that it sucks playing in the PTC events, and ya I'd rather the 17 frame matches at the UK championships, but you don't get progress over night. There was so much wrong with snooker before Hearn came in, and now at least things are changing. At least an effort is being made. Sir Rodney Walker was content to let snooker just shrink and fade away.

I agree with you Cameron.Watching the Snooker on TV became tedious and monotonous to view.Same old tournaments, same old players with the same old songs.Like watching a sinking ship.Dang it got boring.I still put the TV on but began to just watch certain matches.

About 3 years ago I trawled the internet for something else.I found Caroms and thought this is silly playing Billiards on a table with no pockets, then Russian Billiards.I thought who designed that game?Did somebody let the Three Stoogies loose with a tool kit and they redesigned the Snooker table to have squared off pockets and loads of white balls and a dodgy red colour for the cue ball, madness!

Then I found US Pool, the secret to finding it was sitting up later.Fantastic stuff and great to view, this is what it's all about fresh faces and trying to figure out who will win.Next thing Im going to bed at 8am at weekends wondering what time zone I'm living in Lol.

Somewhere in between Barry Hearn took charge of Snooker, picked it up like a dusty rug that needed a right good shake and made every match worth watching.New tournaments, new countries, new venues, new faces and those pesky bookies dont know who is going to win either.:D:thumbup:

One of the ideas that Hearn has floated is that all players play in tournaments from the opening gun, just like in golf. You can understand why a ranking player, who now only joins the battle later in the seeding, would not be cheering Hearn. :D:D:D

The same player probably does not want to go back to the older format where the defending champion only had to show up for the championship match, and thus, gaining a championship earned two fat paydays rather than one.:D

He can afford it because of Barry Hearn, ironic! :D
Most pro sports have policies about players dissing the sport or mgmt, fellow players or ref's etc, MA should just STFU.
