Toronto Pool Halls

Hey all,

I'm going to be doing some traveling back and forth to Toronto for the next 5 - 6 months and am looking for a place where I can get in come good practice occasionally while working up there.

What are the best places with 9 foot tables around downtown? Also, my hotel is actually out in Etobicoke, so if there are any decent places out there that would save me some commuting time.

Thanks in advance,

Brian

This is a little far but the best pool room in Toronto.

As Jaypee mentioned, there's Shooters.

Shooters is definitely the best scene for stronger players as the host of many weekly events as well as the 404 tournament. With 14 9' (8 Gold Crowns), 8 7' Diamond bar boxes, 5 12' snooker tables, they've got all you need.

Annex billiards has very good rates, $5.50/hour if I recall correctly for 1-2 players. 8 12' snooker tables, 8 9' (6 Dufferin, 2 Gold Crown if I recall correctly) and 1 7' or 8'er. Last time I was in there was over a year ago though. I just preferred New Times Square Billiards. The snooker regulars there are the best of all locations IMO.

New Times Square Billiards has great daily flat rate for Sun-Thurs. $15 for 1-2 players, $18 for 3 players, $20 for 4 players. That's their flat rate from noon to midnight. 2 12' snooker tables, 8 9' (1 Gold Crown, 7 Dufferin) and 1 10' 3C table (Gold Crown?).

Le Spot also has good rates, $10 per person from 11AM - 7PM daily. 7 or 8 7' (2 Diamond, rest Valley), 9 or 10 9' (2 Diamond, rest Dufferin?).

VIP in Scarborough and Toronto are both not the best IMO. High rates and if you're in the area of either location, you're better off going down the street to Shooters (Scarborough location) or across the street to New Times Square (Toronto location). They're not chained together as far as I know, but they're both very similar. They're more of a lounge than a pool hall and the lighting reflects that.

Hope this helps.
