Yes that is the name I used.. and I filled out the form to join but when it got to the part where they said it was mandatory to include my private cell phone number so they can send me adds I did not want give out my cell for that. So I clicked out of it and did not finish signing up. When I checked back in later it had me as a member so I went on and deleted my membership. I have not done or been anywhere else on the internet or have I given out my email to anyone except for this. I am still getting tons of email for adds ever since. If you have any details that might help me out feel free to pm.
thanks
Larry
Larry, I'm very sorry you have had trouble,,,,,,,,,though I clearly state on my forum that by the time you see an option to add a cell phone number your signup process is already complete,,,,,,,,,I don't like that they do it, but they say it is unavoidable. My only option would be to switch software, which I may do, but so far I'm not sure it's worth doing this as I'm not getting much attention in the way of users posting items to buy or sell. The software I'm currently using is free, so it's ad supported. Upgrading will require a binding monthly host fee, which I don't want to pay for unless people want to use the site. Right now it's up in the air. I put the site up so that smaller cuemakers would have a place to advertise their new items, and free, due to the recent changes here, but they haven't shown any interest, so we'll see. I'll gladly buy the vBulletin software (which is what AZB is using), but I have to get the membership and traffic up enough to justify the costs involved.
As far as the mandatory part in the signup process, there isn't one, all of the pages have a skip button, and none of them advertise billiards related stuff, so it's obvious to most everyone it isn't needed.
As far as the emails you are getting,,,,,,,I have no idea, or resolution to this, as I have had no problems, nor have I had anyone else complain about this. That said, if you find there is something I can do to help, I'm with ya pard,,,,,,,,,,not much help, but that's where we are I think.
