Brunswick Anniversary Rebuild

When you finally set the table up, try filling those hollow legs
with sand bags.
This will make a great table play even better.
The Anniversary is my favorite Brunswick.

I've had a sticky note on my computer monitor at work about the sand ever since you said the same thing to me months ago.

@dave... Looks like your biggest challenge is the slates. Your oval legs are in pretty good shape and you have no paint to deal with. Hopefully RKC or whomever will lend more expertise with the bondo work.

pt109 is the sand for more weight or was that meant to be a funnies.
if not thanks for your input.
David

GC I'm gonna start with the ovals first than install the base frame, slate then do the pocket work.

The heavier a table is, the better it plays.
That is what Raymond Ceulemans felt...and he knows a thing or two.

I would never joke about Anniversaries or Gold Crowns...
..or Diamonds.

I have been amused about some Gandys...and ProLines...:rotflmao1:

I'll be using gallon sized heavy duty zip lock bags for the sand. That way, the sand will be easier to ingress and egress... without the mess. And will give my young boys something to do so they can feel like they contributed to at least some aspect of the pool table's restoration.

welcome

Welcome to AZB, refurbishing a table can be a tough project,, but in the end ,if done correctly,, its very gratifying ,, Ive done a few myself,, well worth the time...;)

It looks like the aluminum is in good shape but if you want to use aluminum cleaner absolutely without any doubt wear chemical resistant gloves. Good Aluminum Cleaner is extremely nasty stuff. If you don't you will be in the hospital being treated for phosphoric acid poisoning. Very serious no kidding. If you're lucky you only lose your finger nails.

3Kushn, what do you recommend for a aluminum cleaner, the easy-off worked good took more than 1 coat, I did use Playtex gloves in a well ventilated garage. Thanks for your reply.

Picture of the busted slate at female side of slate pin. I do have the busted piece of slate.

bondo will fix that. Use it for the seams after you level it and just add extra bondo in that area ....make sure to get rid of all that puddy

Buffer

Tried out the new bench grinder today on one of the pocket corners, this is after a few minuets on the wire wheel and part of it on the buffing wheel.

Looking real good. I tried the bench grinder method but the one I borrowed from my cousin just wasn't strong enough. Did you use EasyOff to deanodize that casting first?

Good luck with your project there, Tex. It's always good to see Annies come back to life.

GC4 yes I used the easy off method first, that's my new Harbor Freight bench grinder $74.00 dollars.

I've taken the wood frame off of the back of my slate's and noticed these what appear to be wooden pin's but after looking at them closer there really wood screws. a few are missing any idea's on what to replace them with. They didn't screw into the slate just in some predrilled holes.
Thanks
David

I also decided to assemble the table less cloth just to see what bolts are missing and to get a better picture for a before and after photo I know this might sound crazy, but the room i'st gonna be setup in is not ready yet so really just killing time, and to have something to do since I retired not long ago.

How's the project coming along? I never took my slate frames off... I figured the best thing I could do to my slates was leave them alone. You have work to do to yours though, so that's another story.

I've seen some pretty cool man-cave/garages before... I wonder if you shouldn't just build a super-cool garage that includes the Anni because having that Z06 nearby classes such a room up that much more! Though I wouldn't want a ball jump off the table and head in that direction. Did you send your rails off for new cushions?

Tonight I drop off my damaged leg. The gent willing to help with the veneer also volunteered to do the bondo-ing. Veneer expected to arrive today.
