Laminate bearings and noise

I have Bosch, Rigid, and Dewalt laminate routers. My Rigid, which is on my Taper Shaper, started having "the noise" so I ordered a couple of decent Koyo bearings. The difference in noise is dramatic IMO. Has anyone else tried replacing there bearings with a better product? I know the factory uses cheapos, it was evident when I took it apart. I read recently that lower bearing replacement was common.

Ironically, it just smoked its brushes..

I was looking at purchasing a rebuild kit for my Porter Cable, but buying a replacement was only $30 or so more than new bearings and brushes. Where did you get your bearings? If I could get my PC working again without spending $60 or more I would probably do the rebuild. It would be great to have it useful again.

Here is the schematic for a 7310, with a price list. I bought my SKF(not Koyo, that was for a Baldor buffer....bought alot of different bearings lately) bearings locally here and they are common 6002 zz. I have a second Rigid router I took the brushes out of to make the one on the shaper whole. If you want to go with the cheapo bearings that come stock, I see about 10.00 to get your router up and running again unless it is something more than just the bottom bearing and brushes. I think I paid 12.50 a piece for SKF.

Regarding ceramic.. If these don't last....maybe. They cost a fortune though...

That's a much better drawing than I found on another repair site. Thanks much.

Regarding ceramic bearings, the bicycle industry went to ceramics for the insanely high end stuff a few years ago.
