What skills do you need help with?

We are looking for topics for future videos on our website (www.hillbillyonthehill.com). Whether you need help with a specific skill or just a situational shot that has stumped you, we want to hear from everyone.

FYI... we are already working on speed control and beginning kicking.

I would like to see a video on racking and breaking. Especially how to adjust the rack and the break for different tables or conditions, based on the results you are experiencing at different times.

I want to see something about developing a killer instinct. Seriously.

Mine has gone missing and I know it's preventing me from taking the next step.

The break video we just put up on the site explained the body and the motion of the break. We made the decision to do a second one very soon that goes into more detail about the rack and the game being played.

I saw you in Denver at Table Steaks in 2003. You played the ghost, without ball in hand after the break, and won 9-0. Developing consistency like that would be a good topic, IMHO.

Same idea, but include shooting jacked up over balls as well. That gives me a lot more trouble than shooting off the rail.

Elevated bridge is now on the list. I have actually had requests on this subject from several people. I am thinking about bumping it up on the list of upcoming releases.

Thanks for that... I needed a smile today. :D

One of the things that makes me so consistent is that I break the skills down, practice them with my drills and train my mind and body how to perform them without thinking about it.

I received a message from someone recently that suggested a segment on the mentality of the game. That is such a broad subject that I am going to add a whole section to my website dedicated to just that.

It would be nice if a video was made directed towards shot making.
Easy and tough, short and long. The adjustments that are made when playing shape for different parts of the table off one angle.Talk a little about speed, spin and the dangers of the center ball hit.Talk a little how outside english and draw can help on a cut shot.
You might want to talk about switching shafts might not be a good
thing and why.Maybe put something in there about the rails how there are freind and how pocket speed is important.Frozen balls on the rail(short and long). Some peolpe might want to know about cit, deflection, talk a little about the cure.
Last but not least talk about your whole process until you get ready to pull the trigger.

Wait say something about the stroke to,without a good one all is bad.

I know im forgetting something but my memory is bad since the horse accident.

MR Hillibilly you make this video and label it the truth about aimng it will become a number on e seller.

This one makes me smile whenever I think about it.

You placed the cb on the long side rail at the first diamond, then placed an ob on the same side of the table on the diamond furthest away, leaving you a straight in shot. You then banked it cross corner 3 times in a row while begging us to bet on the shot.

I was going to put something about the mentality but you already have that covered. Can't wait to see the results.

Wow... that is enough to make 8 videos! I have made a note about all of your suggestions and will try to get them up on the site in the near future. Thanks for the feedback.

I like a bunch of those ideas. I know my stroke needs some work. I honestly do not know how to train myself for a straighter, more consistent stroke. I tend to shoot slightly right many times, and it seems worse the more I let my stroke out.

Hey Charlie,

how about some tips at how to maintain your concentration at a high level while playing a match, my concentration here lately seems to be lacking at times,

and I go to missing some easy shots, or miss getting shape on a easy lay by just alittlle and that puts me out of line, due to laps in concentrating and it lets my opponent back into the game.

Wow! Thanks for the future expansion on that.

I know that I can't be the only one, but it really seems like any bit of confidence I have at the beginning of the match just goes down the tubes, once the opponent makes a run at me or I get behind.

And if I'm ever ahead, I just can't seem to "keep my boot on their throat".

It's so difficult for me to just flat out not give games away. I've been away from pool for a long time (only been back for about 8-9 months) and have really lost my mental edge.

I actually think I need to put more pressure on myself. I find myself thinking, "well, if I lose, I guess it's not the end of the world". Then I end up feeling guilty later, telling myself that I wasn't trying hard enough.

I do know what it's like to be in dead stroke.....run a rack.....and to not have any idea what just happened. As if I was hypnotized or in a trance.

Those are the greatest moments for me in pool. It's just so rare and far between.

Again, thanks for anything and everything to help promote the sport, Charlie.

Teach me the art of "PIN Point" position. I want to hear "Ping" next time I have to squeeze through tight places, like a dolphin's waterhole.

the kicking system would be great, this is what i lack in my game, seeing the two rail kick
you know what i have seen Efren Bata Reyes escape from safety plays which really amazed me on this imagination skills. his ability to hit the object ball via 2 or 3 rail kicks, with counter safety afterwards, that's a wow factor for me

The Three Diamond Rule

Just in case you haven't check it out yet... Please do so and tell me what you think. It's on my site in the video section and it's free....
