My son and I were moving a 8' Brunswick and all the staples were 1/2 " half of them the legs broke off trying to pull them out, then my son was pulling staples out of the slate liner and the liner pulled off the slate instead of staple coming out! Real fun afternoon. Table maybe recovered 3 times.

There are several idiots/hack mechanics here in Las Vegas that use half inch long staples for all of their rail work, even going into oak on the Diamond tables. Same result , the staple doesn't fully drive in and it bends loops into both of the legs and when you try to remove it the center breaks out and you have to dig out every leg of every staple!!!!They just leave the legs in and cover over them!!!

Anyway, Learn the RKC/Simonis/Diamond bed cloth glueing method and the staples holding the bed cloth will be a thing of the past. It's so nice coming back to your previous jobs and only pulling out 1/4" staples that YOU put in the rails....

I have spent over 2 hours pulling 1/2" broken staples out of a 7' set of Diamond rails because some hack left them from the last 2 or 3 table recoverings !!!The bright side was after cleaning up the rail set properly and fixing the other guys mess, the bed cloth was taken off and ready to glue in 5 minutes!!!!

The 3M glue works good to re-attatch the liner also

Good Luck to you and your son,
