Joint question needs answer

Can anyone tell me how much a typicall stainless steel piloted joint weighs and then how much the same type of joint in a plastic or ivory imitation material would weigh.

I am thinking of having a cue with a ss joint changed out to a plastic or phenolic joint in order to change the weigh distribution.

Also any ideas why this might not be a good idea.
