World Snooker Proffesional Championships 2012

Wasn't it from here that Hendry won 10 in a row way back when?

And?

Still, nice to see you back grommy - thought you'd scuttled off for good after all those trouncings I've given you recently. I've lost count of the number of times the commentators have said "that's a tricky little roll-up, there". And the number of poorly played roll-ups for that matter...

Bit of fun and games with the Pink and 2 ball markers but it's frame to Ronnie.

I was hoping it'd be Dennis Taylor commentating for that bit - was waiting for "she makes very few mistakes, does our Michaela" comment, just as she was trembling like a leaf and nudging those two reds with her hand.

Still, reffing is a SHIT job and she did well in the end. I'd have just stuck the pink at the bottom of the pack and told them to piss off.

That's funny, I haven't seen a misplayed one since they got rid of the hacks back in qualifying. Of course for someone your speed I'm sure just about all shots look really tough, so I guess that's a factor. Meanwhile I was fooling around the other day and hit about 70 in a row before I got bored. Did you grow a pair yet, or are you still hoping someone else will fight your battles for you? Very British of you, I must say.

Good call on Ronnie needing to retire, by the way.

The Final Day 2

Final Session.
We all still here then behind computer screens, sitting at the TV hoping for more ? Yeah so am I.Last time I ask them dudes for a lift to the Crucible.;):D:thumbup:

Yeah, happy to be proven wrong on that one. Well, I was due, particularly after picking Carter for the final. You can't win em all.

About 70, eh? Only 930 to go. Did you contact Bob Jewett? He was offering you a very generous 3 inches, which is a proportion you'll probably be pretty familiar with...

Well What Did You Think Of The World Snooker Championships 2012

Well I don't know what you thought about this years Championships but the best thing about it all was us !

Yeah the players played but this thread was great fun and I really enjoyed the banter,it was great fun.Might be a tale or two to be told yet so best leave it open for a day or two.

What is Ronnie O'Sullivan like ? Right handed / Left handed , give him the rest,he is the best but this flawed genius has only 4 World titles . How many more would he have won with a straight level head ? Do you think he can beat Hendry's World title haul ?

Anyway , I tip my hat to Ronnie O'Sullivan who played brilliant all tournament. a thoroughly deserved winner of the title.Well done Ronnie.

Ronnie O'Sullivan World Snooker Champion 2012.;):D:thumbup:

I really loved this Championship and the streaming was very good. The professionalism at this level is great. I'm amazed at how great "The Rocket" is! WOW! I just can't really comprehend how he gets position so effortlessly and nearly perfect on each shot.

Thanks for posting all the links and reviews! Much appreciated!

A bit off topic, but I watched the BBC live broadcast using Expat Shield. Much better pic than that available on the various streams. It only dropped the signal twice and then very briefly.

Recommend NOT using the program if IE is your browser. Use Firefox or Chrome with the Adblock add-ons - and don't install any of the extra stuff during the install of Expat Shield (toolbar, etc).

Since I don't completely trust the program, I uninstalled it after the finals. RevoUninstaller reported the program had uninstalled cleanly using the built in uninstaller.

I believe my use of that program was completely legal.

I thought it was ok only. Ronnie aside, there were few real fireworks, and few close matches (or at least ones I saw). The final was a damp squib. I thought the crowd was very muted for many matches.

Only Ronnie was in form - the rest were pretty pedestrian, in truth. The World Champs, for me, are often more about the circus rather than the game itself - the bbc's coverage is superb, and the commentators and pundits great, offering a pleasing mix of cheesy gibberish and top class analysis.

It's clear the players don't like Sheffield and are only there for the money. Many of the established players hate snooker itself, and can't wait to quit.

Stuff em, let's never move it from the crucible.

Thaiger, ya gotta use more emoticons...that was hilarious.:rotflmao1:^

And, yeah, last year was more exciting...other than the Rocket.
Almost every shot in this tournament could have been made by a lot
of us (although maybe not as often and under competitive pressure)

..but when the Rocket made a half-tough red and stunned perfectly
for the pink-ball whilst jacked up over the blue WRONG-HANDED...
I thought of a talent like Walter Lindrum....too bad Ronnie doesn't
have the dedication that Lindrum had.

..and that 92 in the 7th frame of the finals just might have been the
finest run ever made at the Crucible.
