World Snooker Proffesional Championships 2012

I love this championships and this thread, I enjoyed the free stream on BBC2, and I also enjoyed the cooking program that comes on BBC2 between the sessions :P

The Best Thing ...

I really loved this Championship and the streaming was very good. The professionalism at this level is great. I'm amazed at how great "The Rocket" is! WOW! I just can't really comprehend how he gets position so effortlessly and nearly perfect on each shot.

Thanks for posting all the links and reviews! Much appreciated!

The best thing was the banter and reading what other peoples views on the Championships around the world were.Great fun.;):D:thumbup:

It's Alright .

A bit off topic, but I watched the BBC live broadcast using Expat Shield. Much better pic than that available on the various streams. It only dropped the signal twice and then very briefly.

Recommend NOT using the program if IE is your browser. Use Firefox or Chrome with the Adblock add-ons - and don't install any of the extra stuff during the install of Expat Shield (toolbar, etc).

Since I don't completely trust the program, I uninstalled it after the finals. RevoUninstaller reported the program had uninstalled cleanly using the built in uninstaller.

I believe my use of that program was completely legal.

As long as you enjoyed the Championships that is fine.;):D:thumbup:

Thanks For The Wake Up Calls !

Thaiger, ya gotta use more emoticons...that was hilarious.:rotflmao1:^

And, yeah, last year was more exciting...other than the Rocket.
Almost every shot in this tournament could have been made by a lot
of us (although maybe not as often and under competitive pressure)

..but when the Rocket made a half-tough red and stunned perfectly
for the pink-ball whilst jacked up over the blue WRONG-HANDED...
I thought of a talent like Walter Lindrum....too bad Ronnie doesn't
have the dedication that Lindrum had.

..and that 92 in the 7th frame of the finals just might have been the
finest run ever made at the Crucible.

Special thanks to pt109 who somehow knew I was rocking myself out and set the alarm bells off that made me get up off the canvass and post some more stories to the thread.;):D:thumbup:

Clearances

In case anyone thinks O'sullivans 92 clearance was luck, take a look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ks1X5SNl2E8#t=9m50s

That is what makes Snooker worth viewing. The balls are set in an impossible position but then along comes a player and they shoot the clearance. My favourite is still the Alex Higgins 69 break V Jimmy White way back when but James Wattana did an impossible clearance way back when.I can't find it on you tube but maybe The Thaiger could help.;):D:thumbup:

It's been a great thread, Church....
But leave the Thaiger and Grommy alone...they're doing just fine.
And these guys can have an argument without threatening to burn
down each others' houses....and at no time have they threatened to
desecrate the graves of each others' ancestors.
They both present their case well....and the jury is still out.

pt..<..who thanks Church for this thread

Au contraire! The jury's decision is in, and it's guilty by a majority verdict - 9-1 - a hammering in anyone's book (you always get the one).

Still, grommy's put in a very brave effort, by undertaking a whopping 7% of the challenge, before sloping off for a great big slice of humble pie and a good cry, probably.

Crucible King 16/1 To Claim Record Haul

http://www.racingpost.com/news/spor...-1-for-record-title-haul/1029237/othersports/

Watch your bets on this one.

I'm not saying Ronnie can't do it but we all know what he is like.He could win the next one. Then retire for a year then win the next one then retire for two years etc.16/1 is way too short odds.Anyway we all had great fun.

Well done Ronnie O'Sullivan.A deserved winner.;):D:thumbup:
