My Aiming Method

DecentShot

I stand over the CB in relation to where I think the CB will have to travel in a straight line in order to pocket the OB. I stand so the CB is in the center of my body...aligned with my nose, middle of my chest etc.. in my mind I place a point, maybe the size of the aramith emblem, on the very top of the CB. I then follow that line to the point where it meets the OB. I then put a dot at that point. As I bend down over the shot I keep my eyes focused on the dot that is near the OB. I then align the point on the top of the OB with that of the CB. Please note that shots that are more straight forward will be easier because the point will be on the OB as the cut becomes more severe the point will move away to some place on the table. When this is the case you just treat the point on the table as the place your going to send the point on top of the CB in a straight line.

Plain and simple... Goes to show everyone has something that works for them. I myself use a combination of systems and what i have learned from the Magic Eye by Joe Tucker. Best product i ever used as i see the cueball as double an by that i see two cueballs.

I use a similar method - even simpler. I just notice where the CB's center is pointed in relation to the object ball's contact point. It doesn't take long for your brain to start knowing what's right or not, especially if you give it something precise to measure.

This "comparison with past experiences" is how everybody really aims - the "systems" they use are just user interfaces, some (way) more complicated than others.
