Buy 'em if you like 'em. I have 3 Pred. sneakies. I do not shoot better with them than any of my other cues. ( I'm not that great to begin with).
I like the looks. They are made well. They are good players.

you are an idiot

There we both just expressed our opinions freely

True, but only one of our opinions has substance. But you carry on cueing like a drain with your expensive, gaudy pieces of highly decorative firewood that someone has convinced you is worth the money.

Man, they see you guys coming!

... spin is so easy to achieve
No, it's not. No more than any other cue. This myth really gets tiresome.

yet nobody mentions it as a selling point.
LOL. Everybody mentions it - even though it's dead wrong.

Predators have virtually zero deflection.
No, they don't. They just have less than the average cue.

AND high performance

Predators are the best production cues ever made. And will be like this for at least 50 years for now. Custom cues are over priced. All of them. I agree that you pay the hard work of a cm, but you will never get the results of a factory that invest 2 mil $ in research/yr. IMO

2. NOBODY around here (the UK) EVER flips Predators - once you've adjusted to them, you'll never change. No constantly searching for the holy grail. No endless buying and selling. As you say, the spin is so easy to achieve, yet nobody mentions it as a selling point.

Well you will hear one now......

I would not play with a predator i don't like the cues i don't like the noise they make hitting the ball i don't like the cheap finish on the butt that cracks so easily and i really don't like the feedback they give.

An no i'm not sponsored by anyone that's my genuine opinion i first played with a predator in around 1999-2000 (have had a few of them) now i'm more than happy with my McDermott with an OB-1 shaft. Its the best hitting cue for my game.

A few things;

1. People always say you can learn to adjust for deflection, but they never say you can learn to like the hit of a Predator, which you can, obviously. It is much quicker to learn to like a predator than it is to learn to adjust for deflection.

3. Most people on here will have never played with a Predator, at least not as a main player. They are merely following the herd. There is a strong American bias on this site (naturally), which is why they poo-poo anything that is not American made, hence the jealousy comment. I bet attitudes would be different if Preds were still made in America...

4. I disagree about Lucasi being 99% of a Predator. I like how they play, but there's a difference in performance, especially the shafts - I had a Lucasi Hybrid and it played markedly different to a 314-2, with a lot more deflection.

5. I see no point in LD cues/shafts that still deflect. Only Predators have virtually zero deflection AND high performance.

I used use a Predator shaft, but now my primary is OB1. I like both, but, they still have deflection that needs to be accounted for. I have a long stroke, so the long pivot point fits well with my shot.

The finish on the Pred SP I've just bought is ten times more robust than the finish on the Pechauer I've just sold.

I accept the ferrules are rubbish but have never heard of complaints about the butts before. The only one I've seen that had cracks in it had been 'Appletoned' - ie hurled at a wall.

I think you're wrong on all points, but the definition of performance is best answered by a question - who plays with these cues?

There you go. No need for an answer.

Or the question needs to be..

Why hasn't one ran 527 balls.. OR.... if they stopped giving them away like candy to top players would they still use them? Same reason Meucci was the bomb in the mid 80's early 90's.. every pro was using one. Make them in quantity and give em away.

Some of the higher end predators are very nice looking cues indeed, and generally much better in the flesh than in pics. My mate's Blak 4 is an extraordinary cue to play with.

Agree about the second gen Ikons, though.

i have a blak 4. it plays ok. nothing to really brag about really. i gave it to my girlfriend to play with.

i would say they used to be one of the best production cues ever made.. when they were being made by falcon.. but now that they are being made by that chinese factory.. i say their value goes way down.. they used to have some really nice designs.. but now they all look the same.. and you can tell the difference between the north america ones and the new chinese ones.. in my opinion once they switched manufactures. the prices should have came down.. you have to be nuts these days to pay their retail price.. even at a significant discount.. you will still get hurt on resale.. oh and i used to sell predator cues and shafts as a dealer.. make sure you roll it before you buy it.. 9 out of 10 predator shafts come warped right from the factory...

Why single out Predator?

Do a poll for Meucci, Joss, Schon, Tiger, and all the other popular brand cues.

After that, do a poll on the Custom Cues as well. That would be most interesting. That would bring out some haters for sure. LOL

You realize you cannot back up anything you just said less your opinion.

1. Where I live many players around tried for months to learn to like predator because of the name and ld, but could not because they liked the feel of solid maple. Shit one guy put a meucci ferrule on his 314 which destroys what makes the predator shafts ld but he played much better with it like that because he played 20yrs w/o ld.
2.You dont know everyone in the UK
3.no pool player is jealous of predator some just don't like how they do business and ond others just don't like there products just like I don't like Dodge cars an american Co.
4. I played just as good with my lucasi as I did with the predator I owned
5. There is no such thing as a shaft that doesn't have deflection just lower and OB's low deflection are just as good as Predator.
With that said I use the Predator BK2 for my breaker as long as there is a tip pad because I have blown out to many ferrules to count and Predator would not back there product w/o reciept. I also use the 314-2 on my Bear Bustamante Cue and z-2 on my Judd fuller. There products are over priced they are very cheaply made now and when they were made in America, but they have been the most innovative cue company for tech and mostly marketing love em or hate em. I like the people at OB better, they also make great stuff and they back there products I had a used ob1 my partner busted the ferrule on a mis cue. I called them told them what happened they fixed it for free knowing it was second hand. Thats why I have an OB classic on the way.

I think the quality is good. The shafts are very good. However, I would rather buy a shaft and put it on another cue.

How jealous Americans are of Predator!

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't predator a US company? I know they make the cues in china but I thought they were based in the US. If that is the case why would americans be jealous of a american company?

100 precent correct. Don't know why I didn't just say that lol.

I played with a predator sneaky for a while. I cut off the ferrule drilled out the foam, added a tenon and new ferrule and it was one of the best playing cues I've ever hit with...

I now use a low deflection shaft that I developed that feels like a standard shaft.
