if you could have any cue today what would it be?

I am in the market for a new cue and I just wanted to get a feel for what cues are the more desirable and better playing cue.

I have heard the name before but i dont know much about him. there is gus and barry szamboti if im not mistaken. but I know nothing of their work or what they are about. I also dont know what a cortland wrap is lol.

You did not say price range!!! there was a poll at AZB for which cue to buy, but it looks like it is removed, forgot which brand was favored maybe OB cues not sure. I advise leather wrap, 11.75 or smaller tip, extra shaft, and buy few tips of what is used on the cue for future repairs. Best advise ask players at your pool room to shoot with their cues few balls, you might like one brand that way.

Tough one, as I've never had the good fortune to try a Balabushka, a Szamboti, a Martin, a Rambow, etc.

But I sure wouldn't mind having my pick of one cue from Tate's collection, probably the L or M.

I would get a ginacue. Way out of my price range, but no other cue makers designs strike me like some of his do.
 
I have a very nice Ebony and Ivory from Jerry Olivier. If I was to want any other cue it would be and I know the spelling isn't right, but its a Joe Gold Consig- however you spell it-Smitty
