Most likely in about a month or so, we will have a city team game on Sharks, styled the way I think it should look. It will be between two New York teams with high level players and should be very interesting.
But my reason for this thread is that in the long run, a team like this must have a way to make money to pay the players. Professional Baseball, Football, and Basketball have a main source of revenue in their fans going to the games and buying tickets to watch the games. Then there is the TV rights, and it goes on and on.
My question to you is, how do we fund a team if this game is enjoyable to watch and it has a future to blossom into a league. Even small at first, but eventually a National league.
Having one person or one company sponsor it, in my opinion, is not a long term idea because their money will run out or there is not enough revenue for one company to gain in this business from sponsoring anything. Other than paying for commercials to have their products shown during the games, I can't imagine one company in this business sticking out their necks to that extent.
So, we come to the real questions. Everyone always talks about saving pool and no one wants to do it. Well would you be willing to spend maybe the price of a beer on one game to possibly save pool in the sense that a player would have a goal, in the form of a professional job, as in any other sport?
And, if you would be able to spend that much, what form would be the best for you?
If there are other ideas, please tell us.
The first game on the show will be free, but after that, it will be a toss up.
