Pro tourneys in Fl?

Can anyone let me know if there are any pro tournaments coming up in the near future in Jacksonville, Orlando or Tampa, Fl?

I find nothing much here, mostly schedules for 2012 only, and a search on the Internet displays even less. The billiard centers don't seem to see the need to mention such upcoming events on their websites, either.

Yes, but specifically ones that attract the big boys and sometimes cue makers.

My reason is that I have a cue that needs identification, and there might be someone at one of these events that knows about older cues.

You have an odd way of getting to what you're after.

But that's beside the point. What about photos and this forum???

Tried that already. Most of the responses were stuff like "Piece of junk", or "just Asian made production", etc.

I tried contacting some of the big boy cue makers and experts suggested in the Blue Book. Some wouldn't even answer an email, another asked for photos, and didn't respond when I sent them.

The only two who were helpful were Barry Szamboti and Richard Black. Barry said, probably not made by his dad, but not 100% sure.
Richard (who asked for and got an x-ray of the cue), said it's definitely not a Balabushka or Szamboti or Paradise. Both however, agreed that it's a very nice cue, probably made by a known cue maker in the northeast around 1970, but could tell me no more.

Sorry, if my looking for an expert at a pro event seems odd to you; I'm trying everything I can think of.

I've been playing with the cue for several weeks. It's not a "cheap import". It's my playing cue for now. So I'd sure like to know who made it.

It was odd because you were simply asking for a pro tournament which is far removed from your ultimate hope to find some cuemakers or experts in a Florida venue.

Feel like sending me a photo then?
