That is ok spider, I am a big boy, and my position is easily defended with facts. I encourage people like Lou to post his issues on here so we can get the truth out.
So far, Lou's issue is he wants proponents to acknowledge that this system is not for everyone . I will agree with that. There are some people that just don't like change, even for the better. I am not sure why this is such a big deal for Lou, It seems to be a silly issue lol.
I personally would like Lou to dig into the actual system and come up with something that he thinks is wrong or flawed. This is what I would like to hear about and discus. Remember I will end up on the contact point that makes the ob ball and I can make any kind of adjustment from that point if needed like using english, etc. (someone should explain that to john schmidt also) This is what the system was designed to do

You get the DVD and try Pro1 for *many* racks of 14.1 and couldn't get it to work. Did you expect to play beyond your current level of play after hitting a few hundred balls (which I doubt you did, but I'll give you the benefit of doubt)?
It took you 50 years to play the way you do, doing it your way. You invested a few hundred balls and that's enough for you to conclude the system doesn't work as advertised? Were you able to get to your full speed 50 years ago in a few hundred balls? Nope, 50 years.
You then invest .01% of your effort, compared to your legacy style, into Pro1 (which is questionable) and you immediately say it didn't work for you. Ya don't say?
Can you reference any posts you've made here asking questions about the system in regards to your learning / development? Any posts explaining what you're doing and the results of such and asking help from those who might be able to help you over the initial hump?
Can you reference any posts you've made here describing challenges you were experiencing regarding your work with the system (i.e. types of shots you were missing, mechanics, etc.)?
If you were legitimately interested in learning the system, did you call Stan for assistance, when he offered his phone help to the forum for free?

The real answer is you made zero effort to learn the system. You bought the DVD, sure. But you only did that with the sole intent of posting a raw, scathing review. If you DID hit balls to see what was up, you did so with a sour heart and a "terminally-cynical" attitude.

Rick it's very nice of you to give Lou the benefit of the doubt but he has been a rabid opponent of these methods for more than ten years. This all started on another message board far away and with other people.
More than simply being disappointed Lou was more than anyone else ready and raring to slam the DVD and it's content. Well before it came out he had already labeled Stan Shuffet and anyone else who teaches similar methods to be snake-oil salesmen among other equally preposterous names.
In his "review" of the DVD he went so far as to accuse Stan of purposefully withholding information that Lou posited would guarantee that the student must book lessons in person to actually learn the methods.
And finally he said that if Willie Mosconi himself were to rise from the dead and declare that CTE/ProOne was the best way to aim then he, Lou, would tell Willie to go back to sleep.
So under that type of condition there was virtually no way on the Earth that Lou was going to do any sort of positive review of the material.
Now the plain facts are that there are dozens of positive testimonials to Lou's negative one. Many top instructors endorse CTE and similar methods. Stevie Moore and several other professionals are "out" with their endorsement of CTE/Pro One and other systematic methods of aiming.
You are right that the readers can make up their minds and that is why I and others put Lou's comments into context. Just as you have come to this discussion with the idea that Lou is simply a player who was disappointed with the material without knowing his long history of negative campaigning against system aiming so to is the very real risk that newbies read his "review", find it well written and thus conclude that he is right with zero knowledge of the back story.
I would bet one million dollars that Lou didn't give CTE two hours of table time. Since I don't have a million dollars and we have no way to prove it anyway such a bet is not placeable. But I believe sincerely in my heart that this is true. And I otherwise like Lou and find him to be a decent guy but not on this subject and not with the way he has treated Stan and others.

This is exactly the type of shot where CTE is so powerful. Getting on the ball and knowing with 100% confidence that you are on the right line allows you the freedom to execute accurately.

I am fully confident that if Lou had that sort of method where he could simply get on the shot with no hesitation at all then he could possibly become an even better player.

This is what I noticed.
He does need to work on his aiming lol.
He needs to work on his stroke, learn how to draw the ball.
He needs to work on his breakouts.
He needs to work on his patterns also.
He needs to work on his cue ball control that’s for sure.
But he does look like he loves the game :smile: This is the type of guy that has been plateaued for most likely 30 years that a system like cte/pro1 would help. But sometimes you just cant teach an old dog new tricks.

to be honest ive never heard of any of these guys playing in any type tournament nor a gambling match. can they even run a rack of 6 ball? what constitutes ones credentials here. posting in a forum humpteen times? please give me the run down can they make a ball or do they just talk? what are theyre credentials? lol jus sayin.
i know in golf you have to be able to demonstrate or atleast be able to shoot a certain score. please enlighten me.

Well they are nowhere near your level but I am sure they are decent players and can put at least a couple of racks together. They do not claim to be anything they are not. They are very , very knowledgeable about pool and do not get into physics debate with them on here about pool unless you really know your stuff lol. Lou is fair game though and pretty much a keyboard warrior and seems to have a dislike for Stan or pro1 or any pro that comes on here and starts giving out advice in a “way” he is not comfortable with. He tried giving CJ willey a hard time also but cj brushed him aside pretty easily.
Scott lee is a well known instructor on here and a lot of people say he is a very good one also.

Let me give you the short version.
Most of the guys who are for or against aiming systems on the forums are bangers compared to the pros. Decent amateurs who love the game.
The anti-system crowd asked the for-system crowd for years to show them some pros who use systems - when we did they dismissed that evidence.
Then they said well what well known instructors teach them and we gave them those names and that evidence was dismissed.
Now we have pros such as yourself and others openly admitting to using aiming systems, endorsing and teaching them and still that's not good enough for the anti-aiming system crowd.
Welcome to the Forums Stevie. Where everyone has a voice and every voice thinks that their opinion OUGHT to carry the same weight. On a forum a banger can match any pro word-for-word until the pro gives up and leaves.
The trick is to be cool and stay on message without going head-to-head in the insult department. Just keep repeating your message and answering the sincere questions.
There are many many many people reading who really do want to learn about CTE/ProOne. Unfortunately we allow the thorns get in the way and pay them much more attention than they deserve. Always remember that the audience is far larger than the few hecklers you have to deal with.
They can't stop this information from getting out there and they can't stop people from learning it. You know it's the nuts, I know it's the nuts, and many many others know it's the dead nuts. What do you do when you have the nuts? You snap it off and send them home busted.
These guys who can't hold a candle to you on the table....this is all they have Stevie. Think about it, after a lifetime of playing pool all they have is the knock. No real skill other than slightly above average. No real desire to get much better than they are. Just the knock. They play that game at a world class level and being able to do it on a forum is like an adrenaline shot to the ego for them.
But knockers knock and players play. We are players, we get on the table and get it done while railbirds chirp about what we are doing. So there you go player. Keep the message strong and don't let the nits put you on tilt.
Its not like that on here Stevie, there are ego`s, etc. You will also be surprised at how knowledgeable some guys are here. So be careful at what you put out here because you will get called on it. Some guys will be licking there lips following your posts, your marked man :wink:
