Muecci Jump / Break cue

Ah, what the heck. I just ordered it. They said about a 6-week lead time to make the cue. I'll let you all know how it is. :)

Well I for one hope the J/B cue is a good one. Hope Meucci builds a cue that is up to the standards of the older Meucci's. Let me know how it goes.

LOL click on the link, scroll down the page and look at the pictures. That is Buddy Hall in the back ground sitting on the chair. These pictures was taken a day or two after I was there last!

Well I said I'd give a review and here it is. Notice that I ordered the cue in early October. I ended up receiving it somewhere around late December / early January, so I've had about a month of use with the cue. So to give my review, all I can tell you is that it hits a ton! (sorry, I had to) :rotflmao1:

Anyway, you can see pics of the cue that they advertise at http://meuccicues.com/jumpcue.html

Below, I'll attach images of the cue that they sent me, which is an entirely different color (not specified by me). It's the lower cue in the pics. This surprised me upon opening the box that the cue was shipped in, but I actually really liked the way it looked, so I kept it. The joints seat very well, nice and tight. It feels like 1 piece cue when assembled.

My previous jump / break was a Cuetec with a Samsara tip. It performed excellent, but wow, this Meucci really breaks them up! It's my first jump / break with a phenolic tip and ferrule, so perhaps that is part of it. Regardless, it holds chalk very well. My girlfriend is a returning pool player from years ago and even when she uses it her breaks have increased dramatically. It makes a noticeable crack sound upon the break, which does turn heads. Great performance, no miss cues so far. I'm very impressed and happy with my purchase.

I'm a lowly APA player, so sorry if this isn't as scientific of a review that some of you would expect, but all I can tell you is, for the money, this cue is terrific. If you have any specific questions, please let me know. I hope to post speeds with the Predator Break Speed app, but my pool environment has been too busy / loud to get accurate readings as of yet. Anyway, enjoy the pics.

Cool. Appreciate the review. Not sure how I would react though if they sent me the cue in another color besides the one I ordered it in. Glad you actually liked the color change cause I know that might irk me. The tip/ferrule look pretty well done. From what you said I hope Meucci is finally turning it around.

The main problem here is that most people say that their cues eventually fall apart over time. If you do a search on here people are always saying how the shafts eventually warp or the inlays start popping out of the finish. Hopefully that is all in the past and you can enjoy your your new j/b cue.

Fortunately for him, this cue has no inlays, so no problem there. That's why I was glad to order a Power Piston Demo Cue from Meucci... no concerns about the inlays. I play it with a Z2 shaft, so no concerns about problems with the Black Dot. Does anyone even use the Black Dot shaft? Hopefully he doesn't have any issues with this shaft. I'd expect less no issues since it's a J/B shaft.

Anyway, I agree, I hope they're turning it around over at Meucci.

Flint, You didn't tell us how it jumps, though if you're only playing APA and/or don't jump much I understand if you don't feel "qualified" to rate it in that regard. Keep us updated though.

ScottK - Yes as an APA person, I don't jump. I haven't even tried that part of the cue out for fun yet, so I can't give an honest review on that part.

Webbs Billiards - I only have the two Meucci sticks that I have posted. The play stick is a 95-7 that I bought at an APA TriCups tournament a little less than a year ago. For the jump / break stick - I searched all over online and couldn't find anyone with one in stock. So, I called Meucci and they didn't have any in stock and said they had to build me one. About 3 months later, you can see what I got. Used them both in a tournament tonight and won with them both! :D
