I own two cues with one piece butts (rosewood & purpleheart), and have played with a third (shedua). All three play great with a variety of shafts, and have that special "just right" feel.

Please post your experience with, and opinions on, one piece butts.

I have one with a bocote wood. It has a very powerful draw shot compare to my other cues.

Once piece butts will almost always play a little better IMO. If you think about it, makes sense. The goal of every two piece cue is to play like a once piece. Less pieces usually equate to a better hit. The best hitting cue I have ever shot with is a one piece plain jane, indian rosewood, Keith Kustom. It is a friend of mine's. He and I have been told by every person that has ever hit with it, that it is the stiffest hitting cue they've ever touched. Most people say it is WAY too stiff, but I don't think there is such a thing.

That SOB won't sell it to me either!!!!

best,

Justin

I don't disagree. I just want to point out that full spliced cues are designed to maintain the one piece butt feel and allow for balance preferences. Put the heavier wood in front or rear and the balance changes without the need for a weight bolt.
