OB121 sneaky vs predator sneaky?

if you like a stiff hit you can feel, don't get the predator. they have a dead hit to them on the front end, kind of numb. avoid the OB 1 or 2 as they both are soft being hollowed out and foamed filled. OB classics are solid throughout and you can feel the hit. i've played with all the above shafts. get the classic with the kamui black soft. it will hit like a medium tip. and if it is a little soft for you liking at first, it will get harder with play.

i can't speak to the OB butts, i've always wanted to get one. i have an OB classic pro on a schon butt. plays great.

Yea I think the ob is the winner I have a custom my self but it has a wrap starting not too like it so I think I'm gonna get the hole ob sneaky

Yea I've never had low deflection shaft I'm kinda excited

If you play with a standard shaft give it a few weeks to get used to. They do play different.

I also have a Gulyassy SPTX shaft that I think plays great...I'm going to switch the tip on it to see if I like it the same as the ob. Hard to compare when the shafts have different tips.

You're gonna laugh your head off when you try some extreme spin shots. Do the one where the object ball is frozen to the side rail about a diamond and a half up from the corner pocket, cueball at about a 15 degree cut angle. Go crazy high and inside...you can do silly things with the LD shafts.

If I remember right, the OB butt is not as fat as a typical house cue. I remember it feeling very good. I think it is pretty standard size.

If you own a lathe or have access to a good tip guy, have him take the tip down a little...it really plays a lot nicer...more of a crisp feel to the english.

You, sir, are going to be a happy man. What weight are you getting? 18.5 or 19 seems nice.

Enjoy your new cue. Please come back here and let us know how it turns out for you!

I like my cue on the ligher side I'm gonna go with 18oz and thanks for the info I'm getting pumped lol

Ok so these hit real stiff and firm? I was just messing around with my break cue it has a real stiff shaft lol I love the feel and hit and sound of it is that how the ob classic will be?

I've had a bunch of Z2 and 314 shafts. Now I use an OB Classic Pro. The Z2 plays as my favorite b/c it has lowest deflection (very noticeable). But the 314 and Z2 dent VERY EASILY imo. you touch a ball the wrong way and bam you got a tiny little dent. a month in there's little dents everywhere. On the Classic Pro the deflection is still very low, but not quite as good as Z2; however, it has a stronger less whippy shaft that also doesn't ding as easily. I am not very careful with my cue, and I'm constantly positioning balls with the shaft. My OB is still 100% ding-less. I've used the Mezz WD700 and it's quite strong. It's somewhat LD, but way higher than anything else I've used other than a house cue. however it was STRONG wood, and never once dinged either. I liked the strong hit on this, whereas the Z2 feels odd when you make contact. But like I said performance-wise Z2 kills. I just don't wanna buy it again b/c of how soft it is and easily it dents.

Yes, the OB classic has that stiff hit. I have posted this before. Hope it helps...

I have owned all of the Predators and OBs. Here is my order from favorite to least favorite. I am considering both deflection properties and solid hit/feel in the evaluation. I think most people want the best of both characteristics.

1. OB Classic Pro
2. OB Classic
3. Varney LD Maple Shaft
4. Standard Maple Shafts (from many different makers)
5. 314-2
6. OB-2
7. 314
8. OB-1
9. Z Shaft

So I would rather play with a standard maple shaft over numbers 5-9. And prefer numbers 1-3 over the standard maple. This is just my experience over the years. To each his/her own.

Thanks for ur input! Do u think it would be better too get a hole ob sneaky or just a ob shaft I heard that the ob combo is very well balanced and if I get just the shaft my cue may not be?

I'm a Pred guy. But I do have some OB shafts. It would be fair to say both are excellent choices. Can I suggest you buy from SEYBERTS. They have a great return/exchange policy if you are not happy with your purchase.

Let your wallet be the guide. A Pred or OB shaft on a quality butt works very well and is less expensive.
I prefer Predator cues. The weights can be easily changed. I like Uni-Loc joints. But a cue is a personal thing. Experiment until you find your favorite player. And have fun in the process.

I got to try out an OB 2012 sneaky and I really liked the cue. I don't think you would be disappointed. And if you want to upgrade someday, put the OB classic shaft on that cue and then order an OB break shaft for the sneaky butt. Now you have a great break cue too.
