why only 9ball at the expo. cant there be a one pocket, or 14:1 or even 8 ball tourney. at lease 8ball
 
I think all that pool in one long weekend comes at a price.

Previously, Allen hosted an 8-ball barbox championship in June in Valley Forge. Perhaps, that will move up the pike to Edison?
 
There is the 14:1 challenge where you get 5 innings to run as many balls as you can starting with the break of your choice (BIH). Also, TAP's rally event has 8 ball including nightly mini tournaments for registered, handicapped players.

The problem with 1 pocket is the lack of 9' tables. The pro 10 ball tourney takes up most of them with the exception of the 14:1 challenge and a booth or two that uses one for some other exhibition (e.g. million dollar challenge last year). 1 pocket on a barbox, though do-able, is just not the same. Although I did see some 1 ball 1 pocket action last year. That was fun to watch. :thumbup2:
 
14.1 Challenge rent tables and space just like any other vendor. I'm guess the same for the 3 cushions folks. For those who feel strongly about 1 pocket, there isn't anything stopping you from doing the same.

I didnt realize that they changed it to 9 ball...

it used to be a 8ball pro am challenge with a $300 entry fee.. but just looking at the super billiards website i see that its now a 9 ball tournament.. not 8 ball like it used to be..

i just assumed it was still 8 ball.. sorry my mistake..
