Visual Sweeps Support Video

Some shots (at least for me) are hard to see the correct visuals. Like this one, CB position 28 OB position 20 CTEL OBP B Pocket 2 Pivot Right. Is a right cut into side pocket 2. Here is a cuetable link. I can make most of the other shots fairly consistently, but not this one. When I miss it is 99% thick and I miss long.

You are pivoting right to left, correct?

The one thing that can be confusing is calling the CTEL and A/B/C lines "aim lines" when they are more like "eye position lines." That is, you use these lines to establish the perfect eye position for the fixed cue ball. Once you have the fixed cue ball, you are done with the eye position lines. How the center line of the fixed cue ball is oriented to the eye position lines is irrelevant, don't worry about it. From here you are a 1/2 tip sweep from the shot line.

Pro one is so simple.
You obtain your visuals, then rotate either left or right of center cue ball, and your do a little foot dance on the way in.

The 1/8 A B C are aim lines.

The CTEL is a sight line.

The center line I used was in concept based on a fixed cue ball.

The CTEL or perception has already done its work in establishing "the fixed cue ball".

Stan, I worked on this for about 4 hours today!! Wow what a difference!!

Thanks guys. I am not at my table.

- Left sweep puts you left of the fixed cue ball center.
- Right sweep puts you right of the fixed cue ball center.

So for a left cut...
- Right sweep (outside) thickens the cut
- Left sweep (inside) thins the cut

For a right cut...
- Right sweep (inside) thins the cut
- Left sweep (outside) thickens the cut

Correct now?

Thanks for figuring this out. This has been my biggest hurdle with the system.

I found this confusing as well when I read it earlier on the thread. My first instinct in thinking about an aim line is it is the line I aim the CB and OB on to pocket the object ball. Some days I read here and feel like I learn a bunch of things and then read something else that throws all I read before haywire. LOL

That is the nomenclature. Just saying, it can be confusing. Early on I thought "aim line" was something literally you would aim your cue down. When I first started I was also trying to keep both lines in sight when moving in on the cue ball. Only many discussions later did that become clear.

My stance when down on the shot, is pretty square. For both sweeps, I rotate the cue from left to right.

Right Sweeps - I bend down first towards CCB and then rotate the cue.

Left Sweeps - I rotate the cue and my left shoulder while standing, and then bend down towards CCB.

Great video Stan ! Very informative. If possible can you do a video showing the one line visual lineup for edge to A or C and the 1 / 8 overlap shots. I'm trying to put my bridge hand in the same spot each time and without having a ctel to put my hand 1/2 tip from it, it makes it a little harder. Maybe there a trick to it that I'm not seeing.

Thx,

This will be covered on DVD2.

Also, I will take your request and put it with 2 or 3 other very good suggestions and over time I will continue to add support videos.

I have a question which i couldn't figure out.

30 degrees cut to the left - Center to edge, edge to A, left pivot
35 degrees cut to the left - ???
25 degrees cut to the left - ???

These little differences are what confuses me
You may reply here or PM me the answers.

Thanks

Thank you for your interest!

This information and my perception work will be on DVD2.
Thanks for your patience.

slight differences done the same way

A very straight shot,

I would do it at CTE, edge to C, left pivot.
A very tiny cut, still CTE, edge to C, left pivot.

If i were to do it robotically How should i adjust? from my pivot? from my perception? or from bridge hand?

Your answer is in perception.

There is NO adjustment in the system concerning the slight differences in the 2 similar shots that you described.
