edit: Looks like Spimp and me think alike.
Great minds think alike
Also even if the 9 is a bit goofy on that 8, you have 3 balls that all can potentially be used to break it out if need be.
I like stripes. I'd start with the 4/15 combination with a little draw to get a decent angle on the 14 (hopefully not have the 4 tie things up). I'd cut the 14, run into the 9/8 fairly soft but since the 14 and 8 are parallel, it's not a tough hit to judge and I'm pretty certain to come away with a shot on the 9 traveling toward the corner pocket. From there, my focus is clearing the 12 and 9 and getting on the 10 in the side as straight as possible. I can play the 11 with slight draw, get on the 13 in the side and hopefully manufacture a shot on the 8. it's not a lot of fun but I'm confident I can do it.
You don't have to break the 9 out perfectly as you have 2 other balls that are close enough to the hole as backups. No matter which of the three balls you choose to break it out, the other 2 are in good shape as backup balls.
Edit....I printed this off and will go home and do it on the table and will report feedback on how I ended up with my decision. I will do it 3 times to see if I run out with the way I mentioned.
In the spirit of things here is what I will do for fun/feedback
3 attempts with what I mentioned
3 attempts with the 4/15 combo first
3 attempts with solids...most likely 2 in the corner first to play shape on the 4...just for shts and giggles
After all this, I bet solids wins
lol...unless I intentionally dump so it doesn't j/k! Its a bit hard to tell the angle on the 2 to get to the 4...will have to look at it closer when I get home. It is definitely my least favorite option. I emailed this to 3 friends and my wife. Oddly enough my wife said the combo/breakout (shes a 4 in APA)...and the highest handicap out of the 4 (my buddy who is a 6), said solids with the 2 ball first! I scolded him but told him I would try it 3 times as well.
