Mechanical pool stick? Too funny

Meth is a hell of a drug...

That video has too much awesome in it to recap my favorite parts, but I just about lost my shit when he got to the part where you have to "cock" the stick... And shoot with the detonator button...

Thanks so much for that! I might actually have to buy it, and use it as the spot when playing better players. In this scenario, I randomly meet SVB and tell him I'll play him even if I can choose his cue. Then, into the closet for a NixStixx cue!

He posted here in the forums a while back.

I don't think he gets how hokey it is at all or how it will be taken by pool players. Perhaps he fancies himself a pool player but I can't imagine anybody that knows or understands the game trying something like this.

I am actually a little embarrassed for him.

The "embodiment"? LOL! Trying to sound smart....fail. :(

I was all set to buy the gold one (the classiest) when I noticed he only takes ProPay... WTF is that? Is that fake PayPal?

Kind of glad, since the impulse has passed, but a little sad that I won't own this curiosity.

There used to be one on the market that the whole shaft would shoot forward when you pressed the button. Tom Rossman I think still might use one in his trick shot exhibitions. Some on here might really like it...you wouldn't believe the amount of deflection it has..:D

Actually though, it CAN be a good tool for learning to aim. No stroke to go off on you, just goes where it's actually aimed. Little high priced for that though.

Rossman uses it to show that there should be a pause in your stroke before you follow through.

You have for sure captured my interest, not in that stupid stick but in your avatar.

Interesting. I think it might be good for testing some theories of some of the physics that always have the human element as a variable.

Also it may have some application for the disabled.

I saw Tom "Dr Cue" Rossman put on a show probably 6 or 7 years ago where he had a mechanical cue. It looked like a regular cue but the shaft could be "cocked" or pushed into the butt about 3 or 4 inches using a spring mechanism, and there was a trigger on the butt that would release the spring. The function was like this one except the whole shaft moved, not just the tip.

Needless to say Tom used it to great comedic effect.

Edit: Yeah, same cue as described by Neil above.

Would definitely buy this for the fun of it. It actually looks like it's pretty well put together, and would be fun to screw around with.

It's a little mickey-mouse to require flipping it upside down and jamming it on the floor to cock. I feel like it needs a hand crank.

How can you test pool cue/ball physics without a pool cue?

I mean...you might as well use a golf club or a cricket bat.....

I once saw a guy in a motorized chair use a mechanical stick like this to break the balls in some little 8-ball bar tournament.

No offense...

but who said anything about 'pool cue/ball physics' specifically? Again no offense, but you sound like PJ with that kind of a nit pick.

It's a straight line hit with a cue tip to the ball with no human influence. Once the force is measued & dialed in I'm sure Dr. Dave could come up with some differential experiments where the human element casts doubt. Your reference to golf clubs & cricket bats is idiotic by comparison.

Again no offense meant but your post seems to be a bit a troll post aimed to try to make me look idiotic.
