Best Sneaky

Several good makers

I have a very plain Meucci rosewood "sneaky " with a Black Dot shaft and I have a Pat Diveney Custom Ebony Hustler with a couple of Lakesalvage shafts. All 3 shafts are 12.5 mm and stay that diamater for the first 18 inches. I probably shoot about the same with either cue, but have only been playing with the Diveney cue for a month or so. The Diveney cue is to my eyes a beautiful cue. Not "fancy" as some cues go, but a great shooting cue. For my money most all of the play comes from the shaft and the tip. I like the back Kamui Mediun tip and the Meucci will wear one if the tip on it ever wears out. I think it is a well worn Elkmaster, but can't remember for sure. Like others have said, several make good "sneakies", many just don't look like old traditional "sneakies" where it is hard to tell them from a house cue unless you actually hold and shoot with them. The nice thing about Diveney is he builds what you want, produces a professionaly built cue, stays in touch , is a pleasure to deal with and will have your cue done in this life time at a reasonable price.

Contact scdiveteam and try one of his Esoteric sneakies. I hit with one at the WCCS and was very impressed.

My top 5 sneakies would be, in no particular order:

Rick Howard
Bob Frey
Esoteric
Richard Harris
Lambros

Best Sneaky I have ever Tried Hands Down was a

PAT DIVENEY

I could not believe how Easy it was to move Whitey & pocket Balls with it.

I just recently sold it to a Friend who it Helped play better, So now It

Looks like I will have to Buy Another one at This Year's Hopkins Expo.

Thanks..........Paul

In comparison to what other sneaky's?

What other sneaky's have you tried and was the configuration the same (taper, tip, shaft diameter, cue weight, balance point etc?) I'd think these things would have an impact on how one feels or compares to another.

Thanks in advance for your response.

This I my view on the best sneaky

I say for the money, you cannot go wrong with a Pat Diveney hustler. Under priced stick. It's all up to the player it's hard to say who makes the best sneaky out.

Question for all the experienced and knowledgable people that contribute to this forum with the best intentions. Who is building the best sneaky at the moment? I'm looking to get one made and want the best, trustable builder. I was looking online for a Scruggs and other sneaky's but some people are asking for an arm an a leg for a cue that needs some serious overhauling. Just looking for some opinions and possibly a few leads.

Thanks in advance : )

Dayton, Frey, Dzuricky, Sly, Josey, Varney, etc, etc, etc, etc......Not necessarily in that order. :)

I've got a BD ( Bob Danielson ) sneaky pete and it hits like a train , never came across anything like it before .
My first sneaky was a JOSEY wich was phenomenal , this BD is out of this world .

Ned Morris builds the very best hitting sneakys, IMO. Right now he only uses very old Valley Supremes and adds really nice shaft wood.

I was fortunate enough to have a good friend that hooked me up with a Josey and it's one of the finest playing cues I've picked up but that's me. I've hit with some sweet Rick Howard cues and Scruggs too. Carmeli isn't a cue to sneeze at either...It all depends on your game and what feels good to you. I'm a nobody in pool but that Josey makes the game a lot more fun. I think you can get a Josey sneaky for under $400. I doubt you'd be sorry.

To me my ob 120 is best sneaky ever shot with maybe best cue just great feedback crisp hit firm very low deflection balanced perfect idk might just be me but ob is my new home for long time I've shot with a lot of high doller cues but this is where I'm staying

OB Balance?

RunEM,

How would you describe the balance on your OB Sneaky? Is it rear, neutral (more center) or forward balanced?

Which OB shaft did you choose?

I don't have any disagreement regarding the previously mentioned cues. Adding to the group, I have a Meucci S/P from 1991 or '92. I have owned it since then and will not sell. Shaft and butt are still straight. Plays great. There is a pretty loyal following for their S/P. Not many are sold.
