Joss shaft wants to meet Joss butt, matrimonial possibilities

Greetings,

About 6 years ago I purchased an older (early 80s?) Joss plain-jane (Js in the forearm, stained maple, gold lettering on the joint and shaft rings, plain butt sleeve, and delrin (probably) butt cap). I purchased it from someone in Louisiana, and within about 3 weeks of getting it to Aridzona, the butt warped like a 90-year old with advanced osteoporosis (sorry, just wanted to try out a clever simile ;)).

I discussed a possible repair job with my cue guy, but he said it just wasn't going to be feasible.

I've been on the lookout for just-a-butt (Joss, of course), but haven't seen anything. Also, at one point I responded to someone on here that was looking for just-a-shaft, but nothing ever came of it (don't remember what happened on that).

So, what'dya think (collectively speaking)?

Any Joss butts out there?

Anyone looking for a gold-letter Joss shaft?

Let me know. I can post a picture of the shaft if there's any interest. I'd need $SOLD+shipping for it.

Also, I'd probably pay $100+shipping for a simple Joss butt (gold lettering) in need of a shaft.

What is the diameter of the shaft? Ferrule material?
 
Here's the butt and shaft under discussion:

The joint ring is in really good shape:

as is the rest of the shaft. No gouges or dings. Just a small amount of normal bluing. Rolls true.

Specs:

Diameter at joint ring = .839"
Diameter below ferrule = 13.0mm, and straight for ~10in.
Diameter of ferrule = ~13.15mm
4.04oz
29-1/16" to end of ferrule.

Interestingly, the ferrule is just slightly larger than the shaft. Don't know why... possibly aftermarket ferrule (?). Having said that, it looks original, and is probably melamine. Also, at 29-1/16" it's clear that the shaft hasn't been shortened.

I would say its because the cue went from a very humid enviroment Louisianna, to Arizona a very dry enviroment, thus the wood shrank slightly and possibly warped the butt slightly as well. Thats just a thought on my part. I did furniture repair for Ethan Allen for about 6 years and found that people with humidiifiers on their furnaces didnt follow manufactures recomendations for humidity limits thus causing swelling in some cases as well as warpage and even delamination. But either way GL with sale of shaft or finding that model butt wish I could help!!

One last bump.

I have a buyer for the shaft, but I'm still hoping I might find a butt to go with it, to keep. Otherwise, I'll be sending off the shaft to the buyer on Monday.

Any butts?

Yeah, that's why I mentioned the Louisiana connection, that was my assumption as well.
