any pool tournament in dallas tx

The only one I know of is the Billiard Den on Saturday nite at 7pm. The problem is it might start at 7,8, or when ever and is run very slow. There is one in Sherman (9-ball) starting at 3pm and handicapped for speeds of 8 to 3 (women). Most are 5 & 6 speed and a tough tournament to win. We usually have about 20 to 30 players. It will last til about 10pm.

All over

Tuesday 9 ball jr pockets denton
Wensday 8 ball hartbreaks and heartaches and one at hollys
Thursday 8 ball jr pockets
Friday 8 ball happy days Glenn heights
Saterday vfw denton diamond jacks gran prairie
Sunday clicks skill man and more I can't think of

Volcano's in Hurst has Fri, Sat and Sun $10 entry tournaments at 8 pm

I went to the Hurst tournament a few times. Nice crowd. But expect to come home smelling like you crawled through a chiminey. I've never been to a smokier poolroom. If you're a smoker, it's a moot point...if you don't smoke, I'd avoid volcanoes.

Funny, I don't smoke and I don't find it that bad at all, and I have played in the tournments there a few times too.

They added 6 more shuffle board tables in volcanoes and it is damn crowded.Als the guy running the tournament isnt watching over how he is getting out the tickets for the few hundred dollar break and run.He is letting other players in there hand them out and I missed out on my entry ticket a couple of times.I know someone is pocketing some hoping to increase there odds.Hustle hustle hustle

The additional shuffleboard tables are only for a week (large tournament). And THE GUY running the tournament (Ed ) runs a good tournament and can account for every ticket in the break and run. They fill up most nights its so poorly run (LOL). Come on back Hustle hustle. They can account for every dollar and ticket . So don't listen to everyone come see for yourself. Full tournaments every night speak for themselves.

hi is there any pool tournament in dallas tx if so what days and times

Have you checked the Tournaments section? You're in it now. :) If the tournament director includes State/City in the title it should be easy to find. I don't bother with any of the events that don't include State/City in the title. If a tournament director can't get that right, I wouldn't expect a well run tournament.

I'd avoid Volcanos if you want to avoid lung cancer and don't want to smell like a dirty wet sock. Disgusting.

poolmouse, you are way out of line about Volcano's dude. I play there and it is no where near as bad as your statement.
Your views are yours. That's fine. But to knock a place that hard just because you don't like it is completely unfair.
Besides, it's hard enough to keep poolhalls open as it is, muchless with non smokers like yourself giving it that kind of unfair review.

By the way, I don't smoke. Never have.

It most certainly was disgusting the times I went there. Most counties in the DFW area forbid smoking in places of business. Hurst, Texas does not.

I coughed for days after playing there. You could cut through the smoke with a knife.

Don't let your love of the game of pool cloud your judgement.

Hint...make it a non smoking establishment and watch the place thrive with new people. The "don't make us forbid smoking it we will go out of business" mantra does not fly. If a poolroom is having trouble staying in business it's a lame excuse to try to condone smoking.

I smoked for years. I stopped a couple times. The last cigarette I had was on 09/11/2001. That is, if I don't count the those times at Hurst (second hand cigarette smoke). But really, why would that matter?

I encourage people to visit Hurst and see for yourself.

To Volcanoes customers, whether you smoke or not: remember this thread when your doctor tells you you have lung cancer.
