I've been getting Billiards Digest since it's creation. I lack less than half a dozen issues of a complete run. I prefer it to Pool and Billiard but that's just my opinion. I think the pictures are better in BD but the writing is about a push, if you don't count George Fels, who posts on AZ. I got both for several years but now just get BD.
I think $48.00 for 12 issues is more than a little steep but you can get a subscription from PoolDawg.com for a little more or less than half that. Renewing can be tricky, though. You have to put in as a new sub and have to be careful or you can miss an issue.

Edit: I haven't found Billiards Digest or Pool and Billiard at B&N for several years now and can't find them anywhere else on the rack, either.

Inside Pool

Inside Pool had been doing a great job for a long time, but it has become hard to find. None of the major Book stores carry any pool mags, when i asked they told me that they get what the distributors send and they send what is in demand?

Pool & Billiard Magazine has been steady and high quality for many years. It gets my vote as well worth the cost.

Don't underestimate the value of buying sets of old magazines. Good pool advise never goes out of style. If you want to read the wisdom of many champion players, those columns are as good as the day they were written.

and if you can afford a set, Snap magazine, for the 1 year they were in business, may have been the best in print.

BD by far... it's worth the price of admission for George Fels alone. I hope he's around for a long time, but when he decides to retire, they should be looking now for a possible can't miss replacement.... cause they gonna need it :)

Billiards digest is the only one worth getting.

Inside pool is all adds and is notorious for not getting magazines to customer.

Pool and Billiards is a half ass glorified newspaper that is more adds then substance.

Billiards digest is the only magazine that looks professional.

About six months ago I got re-energized about pool and wanted to get a magazine and didn't know which one so I subscribed to all three since I could not find them on the news stands. When the subscriptions come up I will let Inside Pool and Pool & Billiard lapse and only renew Billiards Digest. Billiards Digest is far and away the best.

Pool & Billiard Magazine

My vote goes to Pool & Billiard Magazine. Tom Shaw's articles on cues, video and gadget reviews, and the "Legends of the Road" series are the best in the industry!

Thanks for the info BD sounds like the winner wish they would archive entire mags to check out i am more worried about instruction and equipment review then news and i was thinking IP till i found out about unreliable delivery.
