5/16x18 joints

Quite a few cues have these joints. If i buy a shaft that has this joint, will it fit on all cues that have a 5/16x18 joint?

I have spare butts for Viking QR, Cuetec and Meucci - but I don't know whether a generic shaft advertised as 5/16x18 will fit all three or not. The shaft and all three butts are flat-faced btw.

I have been caught out before eg buying a shaft that would fit some 3/8x10 joints, but not others. I don't want to make the same mistake again.

It will fit all three, make sure it's flat face 5/16 18. The joint and shaft collars might not line up perfectly but you can always have your local repair person..match them for you. Sorry forgot about the Viking. KJ is correct and I stand corrected. :(

A std. 5/16x18 shaft will not fit the Viking QR as bought.
The insert will need to be drilled with a 17/64 drill-bit
to accommodate the blank section of the Viking pin.
Doing this will not affect how the shaft fits on any other 18 pin.

BTW, when did CueTec start using an 18 pin???
The CueTec is a .360"x14.

Thanks. Seems like I was mistaken in thinking the cuetec is a 5/16x18. Is .360" x 14 the same as 5/16x14 then?
