And there is the difference! I would have more respect for jack if he said ya know your right. Cues shouldn't be clanging around in your case when your simply walking down the street! Let me see if I can make something better.
Even if cues are touching for a milli second that will bother the hell put of John and he will try to figure out what he can do to make it better.

But I will say this. I did the slow motion video for JB, and in the process of producing that video, I had the opportunity to talk directly to John on the phone for several hours.
I've never spoken with any other case maker, so maybe I'm uninformed, or maybe even biased.
But what I learned from my conversations with John is that he is SUPER passionate about cue cases. He wants to push and push and push towards a better case design. He wants to share his research and technology with other case makers.
He just wants all of us to be able to protect our cues in the best way possible. Period.
I know that John gets into some heated battles online, but this guy is constantly searching for ways to improve protection, and is willing to share his findings with any and all competitors. Some will listen, and some won't.
I have a ton of respect for John. Not only for the quality or pricing of his cases, but for his passion. No other case maker (as far as I know) has gone so far to ask for slow motion analysis. If any other case maker asks me to help in this way, I will always gladly offer my services.
I don't always agree with JB's posts, but he definitely has that passion.
Call me a fanboy or nut-hugger if you need to, but I support John's efforts to improve cue protection, and I probably always will.
I will now quietly step aside and let you guys get back to your debate.

It's not a condom , protection is overrated unless you have no regard for it in the first place , I have had many cases and not once has one of my cues been damaged and i dont drive a armored car in fear of a accident either,
I'm more than sure I represent the norm instead of the exception to the rule,
I don't think we need a slow mo on the construction of a pool case it's not a rocket ship for gods sake
I would hope given his overall cost of materials and labor that he can offer a cheap case but I find it interesting given how proud he has stated he is of supporting 15 families and his own that he does not put a made in China stamp on them

Bottom line is this....it's John's business to do with as he likes. If he wants to make some Justis-styled cases, he is well within his right. At least he is telling everyone exactly what he is doing, and stating flat out, that they are in fact, Justis-styled cases...not much different than when he did his line of J Flowers Tributes Series. He also has done his version of the Fellini/Centennial-styled cases....as well as a limited run of the Brunswick Hustler-styled cases. The guy makes cases....it's what he does. At least he's clear about what he is doing...and apparently there are enough people that feel that he provides a well-crafted product, at a fair price, that he continues to be able to keep producing. If his labor costs are a bit lower, so what?....he's passing that savings on to the customer.
FYI.....$300...even $400 for an all leather case out of his shop is actually a steal, giving that the average cost of his custom leather cases run closer to $500-$600, on average, for a 'basic' model, like the Tough Love Series cases. Just a wee bit more in cost, will get you so much more in options. So claiming he is charging a 'top tier' price for these Justis Project cases, is simply false, and uninformed.
BTW...the companies who have in the past out-sourced to countries like India and China, are now bringing those jobs back stateside.......because the wages for those overseas workers has risen to the point that it is no longer profitable for them to continue to out-source there.

Who, on AZB, is a saint? I'm sure as hell not! Neither is John or Jack....both have had 'words' in the same threads back and forth. Each believe they are making a great product....and each have their supporters, and there is really no reason for it to be otherwise. Healthy competition pushes for greater excellence...or, at least it should. It becomes a win/win for the consumer.
Does John rub some people the wrong way....absolutely! This is a fact he is not denying. He and I did not get along AT ALL when we first began interacting. Over the years, I got to know him a little better, outside of the confines of AZB. What I found was that his passion for what he does is genuine. He is not out to destroy Jack's or anyone else's livelihood...he just honestly feels that there is a better way. He is self-aware enough to know that sometimes he let's his emotions take over. I have been guilty of that as well...as have many. As a male member of this species, often when a gauntlet is thrown down, it is difficult to resist....so, instead of getting emotional this go round...he's setting out to prove a point in a very tangible way. Quite honestly, for those diehard Justis owners and fans, his little project will do little to sway most of them...and that is okay. There are lots of pool players/collectors to go around.
Hatred is a very ugly emotion, and takes a tremendous amount of energy to sustain...quite frankly, it's exhausting. I honestly do not believe that John hates Jack, or any other case maker. I do not believe that Jack hates John. They have differing opinions of what makes a great cue case...and that's okay! Variety IS the spice of life. Each has made comments that have perhaps not been kind to one another...it happens, it's certainly not the end of the world. It's when the fan(atics) get involved, that things really begin to go sideways.
I prefer to leave each to their own, let them do what they do best....making highly sought after cue cases. If John somehow steps on his own dick in the process, trust me, he'll be the first to know!!! :shocked:

There is no doubt jb is obsessed with jack Justis.
Jb went out of his way and spent im sure countless hours and time to find the right departments in jacks local area to say that jack is running an illegal factory out of his home and the other fabrications and lies that JB said to convince the authorities to show up at jacks home with his family and some of his friends there with a warrant to search Jacks home and property.
I could only imagine how Jack,his wife,family and friends felt when officers entered his home uninvited.
How do all of you following this thread feel about this happening to Jack Justis.

I may be a friend of John's....but I do not read every little thing he posts here, as he is quite the prolific poster, and I would never get to read anything else. I also do not post in every one of his threads....or even in every one of the JBCases vs JustisCases themed threads. Too often, they turn into a Celebrity Death Match.
What I do know, from an objective viewpoint is this: yourself, one stroke, and PoolSharkAllen work overtime to go after John, moreso than you perceive John going after Jack. John cannot talk about his cases at all, without at least one of you starting the pile-on with insults and accusations that often you fail to be able to tangibly back up. Y'all keep poking a polar bear with a stick, and then act surprised when the polar bear comes back at ya. It's basic physics....for every action, is an equal and opposite reaction.
I, am not John's 'mouthpiece'. He has no problem speaking for himself. I have seen Jack interact with John in the past and having no problem doing so...so YOU acting as Jack's 'mouthpiece' I find questionable, at best. Personally, if I were new to this site, and saw what you have posted about John, his wife, and his cases, some on allegedly Jack's behalf, I would NEVER EVER EVER even consider a Justis case!!!!!!!!! Which is a shame, as I have in the past...when I was in a better position to do so.
Conversely....I have NEVER made a disparaging remark concerning Jack's cases, nor any other case maker, that I can recall.... and I have been through a LOT of cases! The only two case makers' cases I haven't owned at one point or another is Whitten, because I felt the leather was too soft/delicate for the way I tend to treat my cases, and a Justis, just because I didn't have the cash for it. I don't speak as to their work, because I have not had first-hand knowledge of it....as it should be.
