Will there be a U.S. Open this year?

I know last year there were indications that there might not be one this year, which of course would be tragic for already ailing pool. Any information would be welcome.

As of right now word on the street says Barry has secured the venue and is gearing up for it...

My main concern is Bonus Ball...

If the Open is in October we may have confusion over who will attend because the BB teams may be fighting it out for playoff spots.....

Being down on pro players hurts the gate and the also spectator/players that like to play in the Open and then watch the pros duke it out in the end.....

Thank you, sir. I hope so, though admittedly I can't get my head around Bonus Ball. I understand the need for a current paycheck, so can't fault the players. I will give Bonus Ball another chance but fear it will go the way of other organizations when $ runs out. 10 ball was a natural evolution and will be here to stay. I also agree with Dave Maddox, who quipped at this years Southern Classic,"I love that lucky nineball !" It can be exciting!
 
Welcome to the U.S.Open 9-Ball Championships. This year marks the 38th Annual U.S.Open. The Dates are October 13 - October 19, 2010. This event will be held at the Marriott Chesapeake - Norfolk Convention Center.
