"Great News for all Simonis Tour players, host locations and sponsors. We are in the final day if the BCA Summit 2013 "BCA Trade Show" in Chicago and the tour has already received enough sponsorship to do our full schedule of 180 events in the upcoming season.

"We rocked at the trade show this year. The manufacturers really came through for the tour, our host locations and the players alike. Our existing sponsors pumped up their contributions, we welcomed back previous sponsors and secured new sponsors. As I said in an earlier message, we received enough sponsorship for all 180 events for the 2013-2014 season of the tour. I feel very humbled, thankful and blessed that the sponsors have committed soo much to the tour structure I have been working for and promoting for the last 20 years.

Thy Simonis Cloth Classic Tour is doing 80 Money Added events and another 100 Satellite Tour events, some with money added. Here is the info about the Satellite Tour portion.

"Attn: Tournament Directors / Promoters.
If you are running any tournaments, weekly, monthly, yearly or a tour, you want to know and be a part of this. There is No Cost to you, No cost to your players, No cost your your bar or pool room. No Fees at all! It is as Free as Free can get. As in 100% FREE !
But You, Your Players, Your Location and any other Sponsors you have will benefit.

Anyone participate in one of these Simonis tournaments?

Any room owners out there that can give us some details? A small 5-table room is opening in my general area that will be filled with new Simonis 760 cloth. Four 9-footers and one 10-footer that's an Olhausen snooker table conversion.

Wasn't Mike Janis involved in some drama on these forums at some point? I'm too lazy to search, but the little bit that is left of my brain seems to recall something on here, multiple aliases or something?

Who hasn't been involved in drama on these forums at some point? For that matter it's drama to ask about drama in a thread about a pool tour. In my opinion that is.
 
This is a copy of the email the room owners and TD's received today regarding the Satellite Tour events. (names deleted)

" .....thank you for your interest in the Simonis Cloth Satellite Tour System. This new system is designed to bring quality discounts on products as a sponsorship for any event that is not a full Simonis Cloth Classic Tour event. We suggest including your weekly and monthly events in this system. These types of events do not require any money added to them. Larger events will be considered on a case-by-case basis for inclusion into our Classic Tour events as they require a minimum $1,000 added to the event. We also suggest that all events rules be played under the "World Standardized Rules" but it is not mandatory for Satellite events.

What you get for converting your events to Simonis Cloth Satellite Tour events.
Each location will receive product discounts from our sponsors and a tournament chart package from the Billiard Congress of America along with a Free sample box of chalk from Masters Chalk and a Free Tip Voucher from Kamui.. These discounts and gifts are designed to offer room owners a form of sponsorship for promoting our sport. There is absolutely NO COST to you for this. If you choose to purchase products from our sponsors at a discounted price that is completely up to you. We are not mandating that you must buy from them we are just trying to give you a discount to help you promote our sport, your business, your players and our sponsors.
Your events will also be promoted by the Simonis Cloth Tour through our website and social media sites on our calendars and with online flyers and we will provide you with downloadable flyers for your events so you can use them to promote your events. This does not prohibit you from creating your own flyers for the event it is just an option designed to bring you additional value and create cohesion in our sport.

I just returned from the BCA Trade Show in Chicago where we were very successful in gaining additional sponsorship for this program. I do not have all of the details from each sponsor written out as of yet. However I can say that for the Satellite Tour system we will be offering room owners a discount on Simonis Cloth, Kamui Products, 8-Ball Cue Racks, Stealth Cues, Sir Joseph Cue Gloves, Cue & Case Sales, Aramith Balls and others as they finalize their contracts with us. Additionally you will receive advanced combined advertising through our print and online advertising sponsors. This will be provided by Billiards Digest, Pool & Billiard Magazine, GenerationPool.com, and GoPlayPool.com.

At this time if you would like to continue and be a part of this program please forward me a list of your events along with any details you can provide and we can immediately start promoting your events. If you have any questions, concerns or comments I am always available by phone or email.

"FREE POOL STUFF. - For the second time I am only gonna say this once. If you are a tournament director or a pool room that consistently has events with $500 added or more. I have free stuff for you. It is called sponsorship. We give you stuff and flyers for your events which have the sponsors names on it. It's that simple. We do not want to run your events or even tell you how. We want to support them.

We have found that state tours/smaller tours and billiard rooms that host their own larger events benefit the most from this program. There was $600,000 in products and discounts to give away to SUPPORT OUR SPORT Approximately 60% has already been given away. That means there is still $240,000 left for TD's and Room Owners to use.

The tour has stated that all requests and deals need to be made by December 20th, 2014 if you want a part of the sponsorship.

I heard another 40 events signed up this week for the sponsorship program and the tour extended the offer another 20 events to bring the total events to 200 for 2014. That's HUGE!
