Schon too heavy

Can a Schon be drilled out to lighten? I have a friend bought one but has decided its too heavy. He took weight bolt out but said it was only about a half ounce. Any help is appreciated.

Tell your friend that the first thing he should do is to keep a wght. bolt in the cue.
It doesn't have to be steel, it can be aluminum. BTW, what's holding the bumper on???
The wght. bolt on a Schon is critical to supporting the butt-cap.
Without the bolt, the butt-cap is subject to being dislodged.

If the cue is too heavy even without a wght. bolt, sell the cue and buy one that fits.
Don't bastardize a Schon.

Thanks. He said it had a very small weight bolt and with it out still too heavy. This is my buddies first REAL cue and just trying to help. Didnt think about butt cap coming off.

I'm now wondering if he hasn't pulled the 8x32 screw that holds the bumper on and is thinking that's the wght bolt.
A Schon wght bolt is NOT very small, is NOT easy to get to and is NOT easily removed (in most cases).
Take the cue to a competent C-Tec and have them determine the situation.
No one wants to see damage done to your friends 'first REAL cue'.

too heavy schon

had the same problem and cue had 1/4 oz aluminum weight. sol. being that i couldn't much decrease the weight of all things chose to increase about 3/4 of a oz. clear, this doesn't decrease the weight, but seems it changed the balance somewhat and the cue felt better. if the correct weight bolt has been ascertained. maybe give increasing the weight a shot.
