1939 Brunswick Carom King - refresh

I have a wrapless 1939 Carom King on its way to completion. I posted this before for help ID'ing a couple of things, including the wood.

I will post a teaser shot of the cue as it was now, and update the post with finished photos.

You'll be surprised when you see it!

Looks like purpleheart to me. When the purpleheart oxidizes it tends to get brown on the surface and look dull brown, however once you turn it down a little, the vibrant purple comes right back. Could always be rosewood too

Haha, great eye! I was sort of disappointed when he told me it was purpleheart, but was assured it is fairly dark and a nice figured older example. I'm still optimistic about the prospects. Should be finished up in a couple of weeks.

I should start collecting royalties I'm glad he tolerated my pickiness. It is a sharp design to go on a veneered cue. Came out better than I imagined.
