I was wondering about the value of this cue, and if the cue can be converted? What things do you look for to see if conversion is feasable. the cue is short, it is 48 inches. from the butt to the end of the butterfly is 18 inches.

Most of those oldies have a good amount of meat in diameter and that can mean a better chance of making a short cue long enough to get a lower section of a full sized 2pc cue out of, get yourself a old maple shaft made and you will have a nice cue.
Measure up from the bottom 29-30" and use calipers or a mic to measure the .OD "outside diameter" of the cue.
0.900" or around 22mm+ and you should be ok- I'm no cue maker- OMO-
