At work I am now one of the old school toolmakers. The new guys have all this digital stuff.
But when trying to dial in a job to be better than 0.01mm the 0.01 resolution DTI just is not good enough.
The cost of the 1 um stuff is too much for them. The next best is digital transducer, but I like the dial on these as well instead of the digital counter.
When clocking in a 4 jaw, I like to use 2 keys, one each side. Makes it quite quick to dial in, especially if you only need 0.02mm.
