I asked John Bender (from New Jersey) to make me an exact replica of a Willie Hoppe cue. Dimension wise, it's near perfect. He requested to have the points lengthened a bit for a more balanced look. The compound taper is the same as the original as is also the thickness. John does not deal with CNC so he tapered this cue manually based on his original Hoppe which he owns. I don't know of another cue maker who would go out of his way to do that. The points and butt sleeve are of Brazilian Rosewood. The maple forearm is part of a batch of wood that he bought years ago with shipping boxes marked 1958 on them making this cue somewhat authentic. The brass pin was home made. And the Brunswick label added a nice finishing touch. This cue might be a replica but it represents history from a time that is becoming forgotten.
