Stan Shuffett youtube videos

strong stuff

Agree Gerry,

these 3 *new* little videos from Stan are excellent. I enjoyed it a lot to watch and learn again :-)

as usual: Hats off Stan!

By regulation tables, Stan means 9ft right? So CTE does not work for 7, 8, 8pro, 10ft tables, correct? At least without adjustment.

CTE works on all sizes of tables. The first video is on a 10 ft table. When he says "regulation" he is basically referring to a table twice as long as it is wide with six pockets in the corners and sides. CTE would not work if you stuck a pocket in the middle of a rail, for example.

Stan,
I noticed that on the banking video, you appear to have your right eye next to your nose and on the straight in no angle video. It appears that you have your left eye next to your nose over the shot. Am I wrong and not seeing it correctly ?
If not, do you find that on some shots your way of seeing the shot line are just a little different causing you to use a different eye to determine the shot ?
Also wondering if you find that when your shooting a shot that is right sweep or left sweep, that whatever side your shooting to. The edge of the ferrule of the side that the shot is going to, is more to the center of the cb ?
And is that what is causing the slight overcut ?

I aim slightly from the right of my nose just favoring my right eye. I use CCB visually for aiming NOT the shaft. My cue can intersect my face differently depending on the cut but the cue angle will not vary much at all.

That's an interesting way of welcoming new people to the forum. Probably, so they never return here again. Why not to explain he meant a regular 1 by 2 table with 6 regular pockets instead?

As of adjustments, they usually need to be done when switching from table to table (different cloth, rails, pockets), or when switching a cue (different deflection, feel) but it does not have anything to do with an aiming system. The system (as any good system) gives a baseline. Then you can add spin, do whatever you want and be able to use it successfully.

The videos are good, btw. Thanks for sharing the news, Monte.

For those that haven't seen them, Stan put up some great informational videos, mostly done on his 10 ft table.

Thanks for posting.

As it would be, the above links led me to 30 more videos where I spent the afternoon watching and taking notes. My table is about 7' feet away from where I'm sitting now. Had the opportunity to duplicate the instruction.
Pretty wild stuff. My introduction to CTE has been fun.

I'm 67, I just hope DVD2 comes out before I croak. I want to see more and practice more.

Thanks again

Thanks, John.I really appreciate your comments.

CTE is some special stuff. There is more to come and not just on DVD2 but YouTube as well.

The system will not take you to A,but to B it does. Its the same shot.
Does anyone have a rational explanation how this happens?

yes... Stan said it during the vid... it is because the system is tied to the geometry of a standard table (2L x 1w)... therefor any CTE system produced shot line (shot line = fix cb visual + 1/2 tip sweep or pivot) takes you to a pocket .. in this case the lower left from stands perspective..

The balls have know thought on how they lay on the table, only the shooter does.
Twice he created a straight in shot by producing the the same visuals and sweep.
He proceeds to do the same on a fake pocket on the rail. Now for some reason it doesn't produce a line to the fake pocket..but a bank to the corner.

Keep the balls in the same position and slide them over to the rail.(as in my picture)
Now the system connects to the pocket.Seems a little strange don't you think.
Again balls don't know a thing .

Tied to the geometry of the table....I guess that's all on the shooter.

Thanks Anthony

And as a shooter he doesn't do anything different procedurally. Visual perception takes the eyes to a position that leads to a pocket. This can only be realized by learning the system.

Another vid btw.
