Any suggestions? I'm considering masking off the cue and spraying it with poyurethane. Thanks

replace with lizard belly?
Top coat?
replace with any other leather?
rough it up a little with sand paper?

IDK, just guesses really.

You should be able to give it a suede like feel just by sanding it. You can use a fairly course sandpaper (80 or at most 120). This would make it much less slippery.

Mase you are right about using sandpaper however I would start at like 400 and work your way down in grit until you get the feel you desire....... 80 is pretty harsh on leather and will rip through it pretty fast

This is what I was thinking, but start with 600 to be on the safe side.
