Hello Everyone,

Starting tonight, the 9 ball tournament here will become a handicapped tournament. I've tried a non handicapped for 7 months to have a non handicapped tournament but unfortunately only drawn 8-10 each week. Even though there have been over 75 different players to play, there has never been more than 13 in one week. Time to turn the page...

Here are the details for the new tournament...

9-ball (Texas Express rules)
Single elimination
Mondays - 7:30
$13 entry ($10 to pot, $1 to power rack, $1 end of season prize fund, $1 greens fee)
Power rack

Points based:
This tournament will run in 12 week increments. You will accrue points based on participation and wins. Top 3 at the end of the 12 weeks will get paid out the money collected from the entry fee each week.

Handicap:
Attached is an Excel document with the rating system and each players' handicap that has played here in the past 7 months. This is all based on my opinion and will balance out once this things gets going. Note: I couldn't remember everyone's name that has played here in the past 7 months, so you might not see your name on the list. No one is rated higher than an A to begin with.

Each players' handicap will change based on their finishes in the tournaments. You will go up 1 rating with 2 wins or three top 3 finishes in a 12 week period. You will go down 1 rating if you do not place in the top 3 in a six week period.

This about sums it up but feel free to send and questions or comments. Hopefully I covered everything:)

Looking forward to a new chapter

Hi I'm wondering what my handicap would be... In a 4 in Apa and a 3 in tap,
Thank you,
Sean

Sean,

The ratings are letters not numbers. An APA 4 would be somewhere around D-, D, or D+. It's hard to say though until I see you play. An example of the handicap would be a D- getting the break and wild 6 against an A player. It's single elimination and races to 7.
