*Case of the Year* nominations

My nomination:
JB Rugged Case (Any Size)
Shown in a 3x4/2x5

Reason for nominating:
It's not fancy. It's not anything spectacular. It does, however, have more functionality than every other case nominated so far. It's built like a tank. The first day I had it, it fell out of my truck onto concrete from 4ft and didn't have a scratch on it. My cues were perfect as ever too!

If you don't think they are a hit and absolutely indefinitely the case of the year; Then I advise you to go browse the What's in your JB case thread. I don't know the numbers, but I'd bet the Rugged line are the most popular semi-custom case in the world.

I'm just going to list them as JB Rugged cases in general, instead of just the one 4x8, if that's OK, with both of you guys.

Cool with me!

I'm interested to see how it shakes up the voting. It's far from the fanciest case, but it is a legitimate argument for the best bang for buck case period!

Waiting for JB to offer a fully embroidered option. Looks like a heavy tooled case but is actually embroidered nylon! (I want 5% of the first run if you use this idea, John! :p:p)

Hah! Now that's an idea!

I bet it wouldn't be difficult with today's CNC type embroidery machines, but I'd venture to say that it wouldn't be cheap either.

Eitherway, I'm claiming the it was my idea first! I'm now a case innovator!!! Just gotta learn how to make a case now! ;)

Already being done by others. In fact such a case, a knockoff of a Justis made and sold by a Justis customer, is what started the whole feud between Justis and myself.

Someone said they couldn't imagine such a thing as a vinyl knockoff of a Justis existing and I posted a picture of an embroidered vinyl knockoff complete with the signature Justis arrows and his sigil emblem.

I personally wouldn't want to do a fully embroidered case because of the wear factor. But I used to do my own embroidery - ME - by myself on my sewing machine - and I did a few elaborate pieces - including one case for Oliver Ortmann with his name in gold thread that took many hours to finish because the thread was so fine it kept breaking.

case of the year.

I vote
JB Cases ~ Rugged Cases. The entire series, as a case design.

I use one daily. Best case I have ever owned.

Well, there's goes my million dollar idea. Like every other one I had, some one has already done it...

Good to know John!

Justin, I would also like to nominate Ken K's beautiful New York, New York case by Phil Eastwood. Top notch theme idea that's near and dear to the collector and it's loaded to the gills with unbelievable workmanship & details. What a case !!!!

This is a 4 x 8 whitten that joe made for me...

Here is a super nice 4x8 Whitten case. It's smooth black and white, with elephant ear and ringtail lizard trim. Whitten cases have to be one of the classiest cases in the business.

Chris:)
