Help with Pool Experiment / Part 4

It is actually a two way shot because even if the 1 doesn't go in the side the cue ball position creates either a combo situation or opponent must play safe. Any thoughts???

If the 1 doesn't go in the side, AND you don't sell out (which is unlikely) you'll be locked up tight behind the 7 and 8. It's the wrong shot and nothing you come up with is going to change that.

A 2 way shot means you have a pretty good idea where the cue ball is going to end up.

Right after you hit the 1, it barely missed the 5 on its way to the end rail.

Then, on it's way to the other end rail, you had to thread it between those balls. I don't know about you, but that seemed a bit risky to me. Were you confident the Cue ball was gong to end up where you expected for the 2 way situation?

Yup...let's think about it...if I hit the 5, it might go in, or one of the two balls in the corner might get caromed in.(remember it's 9-ball), if I get stuck behind those 3 balls that probably means the 1 didn't go which means now I'm safe...or if you show the angle that I end up on the 2 and the 1 doesn't go...isn't my original premise true that I leave a combo or a safe ??

So, even though the player runs out, it's still the wrong shot??

That question is easy.
If a good gambler sees a man getting out with poor decisions....
...he takes advantage of the situation by asking him to raise the price.

Hold on...

Don't you have to have the knowledge to know it's a poor decision??

That's pretty obvious.

'course, sometimes a man can have an unrealistic opinion of his knowledge
of the game...and end up losing all his cash also.

That's gambling for ya...

That's a lot of mights, but I'll settle in while you teach us all you know.

Start @ 7:25, examine the layout and tell me if you would have done things differently?

Would you have pushed, played safe or what?

This was your question and people have answered basically unanimously that your shot (even though it went it) was the "wrong" shot. It appears as though you are now pissed that people disagree with you. I don't understand asking for peoples opinions, getting them, and if they are not what you expected/hoped for tell them they're wrong.

That shot, to me, is similar to blackjack in that; Yes it went in and you got out(or could of, honestly don't remember) in the same way staying on 15 vs dealer showing a 10 cause "I got a feeling". I try to look at these in the "foreverness of the game" what is going to give me the best chance to win this exact game if I had to play it 1000 times.

In my opinion, banking that 1 isn't going to help me win more than playing safe (there's a pretty lock up safe available).

FYI, I'm a B+ to C- player depending on the city, state, day, my mood, and overall happiness.

Good Luck

He doesn't care. His threads are more about stroking his own ego than anything else. His "PMs" are more of the same.

Still waiting Wiley..

I'm not going to push, and possibly lose control of the table when a safe will ensure me the best chance to get back to the table with a shot. If it's just friendly play then I'd go for the bank otherwise break out your magic kick stick cause you're gonna need it when it's your turn.

Hey, I know who that is in the vid, Busters pool hall in NH. What's up man. It's Alex, from Union station in Portland.

Hey why did it get "all quiet up in here and shit" lol I forget the line from pool hall junkies, but no, really.

Dave said he was going to teach me something. I'm just waiting patiently.
I no longer wish to speak out of turn and risk angering the master.

Am I remembering correctly from past conversations that Union Station has Diamonds? Last time I was up there visiting, I didn't get a chance to play. Next time, I'm making sure I get to. Any action there?

I dunno, I just watched it this morning, so it was in my mind. Yes, I am a player for how long I been playing for and my overall skill.
