Playing a strong local player Robbie Ling tonight. I'm spotting him 3 games to 15 for $500. He and I are going to post two sets. He's supposed to play better then me. He is a snooker champ. I'm used to 4" pockets and we are playing at local pro Jason Williams house on a Brunswick with 4 1/2" pockets. Gonna have to bear down and will have to play strong to get the 1k. Good tester for me.
 
He's a millionare but he plays well. Good step up game for me. Only way in gonna get to almost short stop status
 
May the rolls go your way and your pockets grow fatter. And lets hope you get home before 9am so as the wife don't kill you. Lol...

Somebody has to ask. Why are you spotting him 3 games if he is supposed to play
better than you?

Most times it would be the other way around, that is unless he isn't really better than you that is.

It's what it took to make the game. I look at it as I lost the first 3 games. I play better losing early anyways. I have more heart for sure.

Hmmmm...if giving three games to a better player is good action, then I'll take plenty of bad action getting three games from lesser players.

If you have heart and want to stay in action, you gotta be willing to push out of your comfort zone. Still if you play even speed you shouldnt have to give up so much. I hope you break him. Stay relaxed and just let it happen. You have done the work to get the results. Let us know how you do.

Assuming you are not a " millionaire ".
Ive seen this scenario before , the weight is for the privilege to play him .
Hes not playing for the money ......2 @ 500 a set races to 15 isnt shit to a millionaire ...... probably makes that in the time it takes to play the 2 sets.
Hes playing for the win and personal gratitude , and hes gonna make sure that IF you win both sets you will have to earn it....guys with money dont want to be made as suckers , he didnt make it by giving it away and he probably hates to lose at ANYTHING
And the 2 set bet is ....well .....makes it more harmless to him but potentially financialy threatening to a blue collar player.
If you know with 100 pcent certainty you can win and are using this to propel yourself into a bigger arena dont let him get off cheap cause when you win He'll either want more weight (comply and you give it $back with "interest" ) or never play you again so you get 1k and tougher games .(factoring in the cost of knocking your game beating a better player giving a spot. )
Be careful , the adage "firing a toothpick ata lumber yard " rings truth, He wont go broke but may break you for trying .

Ill be honest , i dont like it . sounds like its losing proposition no matter the outcome .
