Obviously you know the costliest option. The best+cheapest option would be to tap it. You could use epoxy or Titebond 3, but either way you'll need a new piece of threaded bar. If there is bar left inside, you could try using an "Easy Out" (however, the name is deceptive). I'd pass on the Easy Out and start with a small drill bit, step up once, then turn it out.
In the end, if you tap it too far, you could fill it with silicone or what not. If your glue job gets messy, you can sand it off. Either way, good luck!

Yes, you can most assuredly use extra strength super glue. Make sure to let it sit over night. Please video tape your success and post to the forum. Perhaps this will, once and for all, be the much needed seminal moment that convinces everyone here that cuemakers are incredibly overvalued.
